This post will discuss three subreddits that at this point are intrinsically linked to eachother -- AIwars (AIW), ArtistHate (AH), and DefendingAIart (DAA).
It all started on December 18 2022 when DAA and AIW were created, the former being a self-described echochamber/safespace for pro-AI art redditors to commune, and the latter being a subreddit for debate regarding AI art. Both are moderated by the same people, but they take a very laissez-faire approach to moderating AIW. Four days later, AH was created. AH describes itself as "a pro-artist subreddit made to showcase, prove and expose increasing hate against artist and art hobbyists all over the internet and the world for reasons beyond us, and also show our opposition against it by sharing news, opinions and sources with each other."
As the smallest of the three communities, AH is essentially a hugbox and echochamber for artists that are angry about AI to circlejerk about how much better they are and how bad AI art is. Most of the top posts are ebin memes that dunk on le AIbros, such as this gem:
Most of the subreddit is quite braindead and not worth discussing, with the exception of one user that we will discuss at a later point.
DAA is the yin to AH's yang, the content is almost the exact same but the opposite. It's generally full of retards, but occasionally they will document interesting happenings in regards to AI art, such as when r/Art deleted a post claiming it was AI despite being fully human made. Their top post is a comic that (rightfully) shows how restricting AI art only benefits large corporations:
Lastly, the most important sub of the three, AIW. Created to be a debate subreddit, ever since it's inception it's probably had a 90/10 ratio of pro-AI to anti-AI users, meaning most Antis get dogpiled and it's usually pro-AI content that gets upvoted. AIW is known for harboring some absolutely retarded takes on both sides, but one user in particular is well known for their delusional conduct and obsessive posts.

Big thanks to this post made by @Runch. u/itzmoepi, moepi, moopy, etc. was a moderator of AH for a while (and he got banned for being a retard). His profile picture is of Klee from Genshin Impact, a popular loli girl, and he has made websites and tools for sharing Loli artwork. Make of that what you will.
Sadly, many of his classic posts have been deleted and I haven't been able to find archives. Hopefully someone will be able to dig them up, but the commentary about him on AIW can show how he was perceived by the users:
Moepi would create polls on AIW and AH to gauge peoples opinions about AI, and when the polls would always show much larger support for AI art he would perform extreme mental gymnastics to explain it, as can be seen in this meme that was posted on the sub:

Multiple times he created posts suicide baiting and claiming his mental health was going down the drain. He is extremely terminally online which likely contributed to his poor mental health.
Another user, u/DissuadedPrompter, was a common support of moopy and made multiple posts supporting him/bashing AIW for making fun of him. None of it is very interesting though.
