Fortnite drama: There is someone who owns The Pit and it's one of the largest in the Fortnite universe. Some users make splinters, and Geerzy, who owns it, tried DMCAing the project:

SypherPK, who is a huge content creator, called this out. Geerzy, responded by saying "maybe ask a lawyer about the difference between copyright & trademark?". The community note highlights he tried to trademark "The Pit", showing that it had not been granted. [archive] SypherPK, then highlights that his Fortnite Map "The Pit" then shows it is a generic game type that existed BEFORE he made his map on Fortnite, showing conversation he had in his chat.

Geerzy, then says "Sounds like you still haven’t spoken to a lawyer." with the community note saying that he is participating in copyfraud (copyright claiming a widely used term without completely owning it as a trademark, which is illegal). SypherPK then says "Go speak to your parents about not being a little bitch." (he is family friendly content creator). SypherPK then says he made a Fortnite map called "Avatar Pit" (The Pit spinoff of the Avatar series). Geerzy, then comments saying "Congratulations on the innovation", with the community note highlighting that The Pit is actually based off a Hypixel (minecraft server) gamemode called The Pit, released in Feburary of 2018.

SypherPK then hits back with a sarcastic comment saying he will release something called "The Pit - The Pit", with Geerzy saying Fortnite Creators are unable to protect their work and that he will be interested to see where this takes the platform. The community note saying the previous that he did not create the concept. After this tweet was getting flamed, it was discovered that Geerzy was botting his likes on his original tweet on how Fortnite Creators are unable to protect his work. Geerzy was trending with over 12 thousand tweets about him.

Simon, the creator of Hypixel actually responded saying that he originally created the genre and that he's happy to see Fortnite/other games using the genres in their own version, but upset with Geerzy's actions, and hoping he can use it as a turning point to build a better relationship to build his business.

It would be a 4,000 IQ move if he did. The April Fool’s joke being that everyone thought he was kidding but that really all your embarrassing shit is now public. Please do this Elon. Everyone with an X account deserves it.
