It would be a shame if Russell missed the call because he didn't realise updated details were issued by email.
It's not like he is going to get the US Postal Mailed Instructions. He gave them the phony mailing address. But yeah, guaranteed he will try and use this as an excuse to blow off the meeting and blame it on someone else.

Funny thing is that they didn’t remove the docketed instructions, so I guess some poor clerk will be instructed to ignore all calls following said instructions.
Its going to be pretty based if mr greer thinks this gives him ammunition to claim hardships, and then they go with the schedule set out without him and deny all motions to reschedule on account of him not calling into the first scheduling meeting

(you may now rainbow me)

If they just cancel the conference bridge anyone calling in will just be told the meeting doesnt exist by the system. No human being involved.

Granted after an our of internet chucklefucks calling into it the phone system might develop sentience and start murdering people.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t? He gets notifications from the clerk all the time

Your honour! I changed my phone number and the court did not call me on the new one. Doesn't the government regulate the telecom companies? Is it not true that the knowledge of one agent of the government is imputed to the whole? Therefore, is it not also true that this means the government CLEARLY refused to contact me as required by law and has thus defaulted?

Now then I win the case, so give me a million dollars and have Taylor Swift go on a date with me.

-- Russel, probably

I hope the courts have a phone number for Russ so that they can call him when he pulls the inevitable phone shenanigans. Then he will get to learn one of those fun law lessons: when the Judge calls YOU they're basically always mad.
If he no shows chances are the Judge is not going to bother calling him. Especially if his "legally sworn correct address" bounces the mail. She's just going to toss the case for failure to prosecute and wash her hands of the mess. The beauty is if Russ isn't getting his e-mails Russ will not find out he's lost until things go completely off the rails.

On the one hand, I think Russ wants to ignore the Florida scheduling call (and everything else from them) in the hope that everything just magically reverts to Utah where he was totally winning and had the 10th circus backstop to bail him out of everything.

On the other hand, there's a chance to be on the phone with a real live woman.

So I'm laying odds at 70/30.

I’m pretty sure Russ is getting the emails, he’s just ignoring the Florida ones

Until 30 minutes after a judgement against him is made by the court and he files dozens of pages of rambling about how he didn't know and it's all just so unfair because he thought nothing would happen until the court in Utah ruled on his motions there to totally move the case back to the tenth circuit.

Do you think we could get Hardin to slip in the phrase "Inexcusable Negligence" when he asks the court to award fees?

Poor boomers, they don't understand autistic internet people are following this 🙏. At least they understand the situation now
I personally know someone who works at that federal court and contacted them to ask about attending the upcoming hearings. (they said what has already been said in the thread, no electronics, bring a legal pad and pen for notes) I also told them about the case and they called greer a loser

I'm sure "inexcusable negligence" is locked and loaded in Hardin's word processor of choice.

I hope that's the case. Russ screwing himself over because of his own magical thinking is always good for a laugh.
That's the ultimate question. Will Russ be so blinded by his retarded beliefs that he won't go or will he see the reality of his situation and show up? We get to learn how precisely retarded Greer truly is.

That and similar questions have been a large reason why I find this thread so interesting. I will point out that once he realized he couldn't handle the case after the 10th rulings he decided to try and rehire his old lawyers. In that instance he didn't let his magical thinking cloud his judgement. He did pick the stupidest possible option while still realizing he couldn't handle it himself however.
