Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and SOCOM general - The most "Special" groups in the U.S. Military

Challenge, try to read this in one go and understand everything. It unironically reads like a fanfic where the author keeps adding pieces to the story out of nowhere. And most of the book after 9/11 is like this. I mean kudos to the author for gathering the info, but damn son, you could have helped the reader a bit.
Now I know why the SOF guy was recommending it, lol

Still kinda surprised at the way Jesse is smiling when he tells his story, when he's shooting fluorescent lights, for example. He seems to have had fun from the way he tells it.
Maybe he's trying to mimic human emotion when he doesn't actually feel anything.

jsocarchive is a fascinating example of cognitive bias and essentially religious devotion in spite of evidence. When a story is posted about SEALs killing civilians it's immediately believed. When a story is posted about Delta shooting a bunch of civilians (with video of the wounded civilians) all of a sudden it's a conspiracy because Delta would never do that. For the sake of argument, let's say all of the 8 people killed were enemy combatants. That still doesn't explain how Delta wounded but didn't kill an additional 7 women and children unless they were spraying wildly and missing their intended targets. When you have a raid that's been planned for years and is very politically sensitive, you're supposed to remain calm and not spazz out like a bunch of soy boy cops

Archive of the thread. I honestly think Delta doesn't care about getting seen as criminal or murderous or killers. Even if they are civilians. It fits into their biker-tribe thought and the "Kill 'em all, let God sort them out" attitude. They do care about being seen as incompetent and dumb, so that's why they actively spin this raid as a good op, and they don't freak out about things like Boettcher or Leshikar.

But mention Dunbar, and oh my Lord, HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST DELTA FUCKED UP? Literally reminds me of the SJW meme "How dare you...?!"

Agree. I know it sounds fucked up, but wounding a bunch of people is actually worse than one Gallagher because it shows none of them are in control of their actions. You can deal with individual psychos by kicking them out. You can't fix stupid.

If DEVGRU Gold Squadron was really going in and canoeing 8-10 Taliban fighters in their sleep rather than capturing them, that's bad. But it's far preferable to Ranger spray-and-pray.

and they don't freak out about things like Boettcher or Leshikar.

Sounds like Brent was holding back.

His eyes literally went to a 1000 yard stare when talking about Pranka and how "he's a hell of a shot" lmao. I think he really wanted to say, "Matt's a drunk, reckless idiot, but he probably also has dirt on me so I better not say too much."

lol at 11 seconds as it hard cuts to the other guy and and the SS symbol made of actual lightning is perfectly in frame. How fucking dumb are these guys :story:
Holy shit. Good catch. Don't know if its a nod to the SS, or they literally did not think through on the design and camera angle. I would totally believe either one.

Ranger spends 13 minutes teaching you how to throw a ball backwards. He mentioned he had to work to figure the code to max out.

The mods over there are out of control.
Always have been. They also took down the Nielsen shooting a civilian video since "it was a troll account" and people were actually saying they didn't care and that it was totally justified.

BTW, I'm making progress in the OP, in a Word document. I'm just trying to get the details straight.

That was the perfect encapsulation of them being stupid, evil, and cowardly.
>whole team gets shot for the "3rd or 4th time" by one enemy combatant
>catch house on fire
>freeze and don't know what to do (if you're too scared to run into the building to save the kids yourself, at least get on the bullhorn and tell them it's okay to run out)
>get mad at the civilians for not being able to escape a burning building that you were just shooting at
>murder the one civilian who manages to escape
>let the kids burn to death
