I think Tom likes him because he is obsessed with the edgy aesthetic. He want's the cool factor of being edgy but still censors every slightly bad word or wont say anything that would even remotely offend. I get why he does on his Turkey Tom channel but on TomDark and other why not set those as loss leaders and accept you wont be monotonized. I think a lot of people would respect you for that because YouTube has been missing people willing to Drop a good Fuck in a video or Sex instead of some gay ephemism. I'll never understand why he likes Destiny he rails against Gooners/porn addicts all the time but that what Destiny is so i have no idea why.

He's too big now. Do you have any idea how many of his subscribers have no clue the pyro situation even happened? Look him up on tiktok and you'll see how many new fans become disillusioned when they find out he said the n word or called a storytime youtuber fat. He can't be edgy now, even on a second channel, because it would destroy him.

The basic fact is 90% of youtube users are bonkers retarded. Look at the comments under any 1 mil + video and you'll see it. They want safe, wholesome, non-problematic content that they can feel good about telling other people they like. Look at what most people consider "commentary" youtubers now: Danny Gonzales, Drew Gooden, Kurtis Conner, etc. This is why actual commentary channels die when they get too popular. Commentary has to remain a small niche because when it goes mainstream it gets softened to appeal to the most people as possible. A channel grows, making the same kind of videos as always with more and more eyes until someone says "erm, this creator is kinda problematic" and they either have to bend the knee or become irrelevant.

This is why it was so funny to see Leafy come back. This guy who was king only 4 or so years before made the same sort of content he always had and everyone lost their shit. It's like a 80's bully coming to a modern day high school. He managed to tough through it until he got bored because he was high off his ass on adderall and had money to fall back on. That is not a replicable strategy, especially for someone like Tom who dropped out of college to pursue youtube.

True edgy, classic style commentary can only exist in a small enough community where they don't have to appeal to the wider youtube audience or when a commentator keeps their identity private/has a real world life to fall back on.

What is Tom supposed to do? He's put his eggs into this youtube basket. He already almost lost everything for going out on a limb with the Pyro situation (which he was right about I will die on this hill), he doesn't have a job or a degree, he's been making this kind of content for years now and its grown his channel. These new subs are not going to like it if he goes back to what he used to make because they never knew him as the guy who made those kinds of videos. More than that its problematic and something other people will judge them for. He can't change without losing what he's been building his life around. Can't really blame him, but he had to have known things would go this way.

Without a massive culture shift that makes the mainstream audience want that kind of content, Tom, and other large creators are not going to make it.

Tom is a real person stuck in a system that he intends to exploit for everything it's worth. YouTube is a whore that exists to have money beaten out of it. He's just playing the game. Frankly, it's the smart thing to do.

There are many people who use this website as a primary resource and I can count the number of them who said the name Kiwi Farms in their videos with my fingers.

Regardless of what he is supposed to do, the way he is doing now is probably the least smart one given that both of his big channels are very clearly connected instead of being separated. He can't pull the edgies on his main channel, because he is too afraid of getting BTFO by youtube, and he cant drop the act entirely because that is his only unique aspect in relation to other channels.

My main issue with it is that, in the end, both channels are getting worse: Main channel is inching towards being souless slop, and the secondary channel is just basically clips/vods of him trying too hard to appeal to edgy zoomers and being obnoxious while still sucking up to youtube monetization rules. He could easily eat the losses of the secondary channel not being monetized, but its clear that making more money will always be his first choice, and that is my main issue with Tom.

He is not sincere in any aspect of the roles he plays on both of his channels, and either way the money goes, so does he. And the funny thing is that his main channel is getting less views overall. That could be for any amount of reasons, but my hunch is that over time people are noticing how the main channel is basically devoid of any kind of personality nowadays, and anything that could be of interest is getting thrown into the vods/clips of the secondary channel.

Is anyone keeping up with the Hopeless Peaches / Omnia / HarleyTBS bs?

Omnia released a video from her point of view about the drama and Harley did one responding but both are over two hours long individually so I’m not gonna entertain it unless someone not cringe recaps. Either way, it looks like Peaches is a garbage person.

That group are people I feel we only watched due to the Creepshow Art drama. I watched Omnia’s videos about her abusive ex too.

The drama seems mostly stale, some stuff that I vaguely know about due to people recapping it in their Creepshow videos. There also seems to be something about a (Discord?) call that lasted four hours “mocking a disabled women” (I thought all these people acted like their mental health and TikTok diagnosed ADHD made them LITERALLY disabled too but idk???) and somehow that makes either Hopeless Peaches, some other cartoon avatar YouTubers or someone called Rosa(?) evil, depending on who you listen to.

Anyway, the drama aside, it’s made Omnia act like a total lowcow. Her Twitter is absolutely unhinged, she has a proper hate boner about Peaches and Harley and constantly talks about them. Peaches seem like a trash human but Omnia looks absolutely obsessed and completely nuts.

Also I’m sure HarleyTBS turned 18 in like 2022 or something and it looks like she’s talking about things from pre-Creepshow Art drama (mid-2021). Harley also seems like they are no longer friends with Peaches and feels used by her. Either way, it’s really fucking weird she’s going so hard on Harley.

I think that like 2nd half of 2021 - 2022 Tom was the best time I his career, but I think whenever he does recent drama content or something about degenerates like goonclown it is his best content. Even recently Mamamax, Twomad were a very good videos. And about topics I don't care that much I can watch a video or two, but I refuse to watch videos about that chink Bobby Lee and other A list celebrity faggots
