Despite saying 20, this video shows about 10 products actually being eaten and reviewed, then the rest was put behind the Floatplane paywall. Apparently the backlash was so bad Linus on the WAN Show (jetlagged and sleep deprived) admitted he only checks the LTT videos before they are published, he doesn't check the other, lesser channel videos. Maybe it was the jetlag or just realizing to take the L after getting assblasted by Gamers Nexus but he said it will be addressed and corrected (starts at 1:04:50 for the video below).

here are the other products tried, they put 17 minutes of a 33 minute total video behind the Floatplane paywall, no wonder they got roasted. In a pissy way to stick it to you, they put no music or edits behind it, which makes it seem like you're getting gyp'd for Floatplane.

tl;dr: A possible opt-out for creators is discussed on the GrayJay app and Linus might opt out, because "why exactly am I going to make my catalogue available, willingly, on a platform where I won't be compensated for it". Linus goes on about how tipping does not work on the internet and that's why this is just not an option, but he'd be happy to be wrong. They also discuss the possible integration of Floatplane on GrayJay, but that is probably not possible, because of all the additional features that Floatplane apparently offers.

Good video. My only nitpick is the part where they complained about racism those employees. I would have said it was rude and offending. I saw one message: "Once you go black ..."

Also one employee mentioned both mysoginy and racism. It might be true, but I am afraid it another woke feminist.

Because a business collaboration tool isn't meant for posting memes and laughing at funny cat pictures. If you're on a business meeting at work you don't shoot the shit, you focus on work. You later dick around with your co-workers after the meeting. Same distinctions should be made when using online tools such as Teams.

That being said, EKWB's employees doing racist jokes on official company communications is unacceptable, keep that shit private. And if the US employee is to be believed, it went beyond racist jokes with EKWB's employees, which is just despicable.

Microsoft disagrees. The "disable memes" button is there because they built a native meme generator into the Teams client during the pandemic.

Anyway, I'm so used to seeing Discord screenshots here that I'm pleasantly surprised EK actually have some proper infrastructure set up.

This was actually a business requested feature, and a lot of them 'love' it at the corporate level. Remember, they want you to treat work like a family or friend group so that you feel guilty about expecting to be paid better or treated well. Instead, they'll let you post shitty memes in some of the back level chats, call it "company culture" and expect that to make up for you not getting a cost of living increase this year.
