Two things I find fascinating about pigman are that 1) He is incapable of complex thought 2) He is incapable of learning from the past nor the repercussions of his own actions.
The first astounds me to no end. I thought that complex thought was a requirement to be considered a non-impaired member of our species, Homo Sapiens. If that is the case, then either Pat is not a member of our species and is indeed some type of degenerative subspecies of Homo Sapiens, something akin to Homo Sapiens Suis, or he is indeed fundamentally mentally impaired in some fashion.
The second is also quite a fascinating situation. As far as I am aware, all higher order mammals are capable of learning from past errors in some capacity or another. His maxim, as stated by him is something to the effect of "Never let the bad guys win". The problem with his circumstance is that he has tried his version of this approach, and spectacularly failed, and yet he persists at it. Anyone who knows anything about strategy knows that you never press a losing hand, if a tactic has proven to be ineffective, or in pigs situation, catastrophic, you regroup and reconsider your angle of attack. He doesn't seems to comprehend this. He seems to think if you keep doing the same thing, eventually it will be effective, which is utter insanity. He fails to see that by continuing to press an ineffective strategy, he is essentially the source of his own misery now. He has, by his sheer inability for self-reflection and analysis, become the fuel to the fire on which he slowly roasts. It is incredibly perplexing and confounding how he could be so dense as to not realize this. Or, contra to that, he realizes it and persists despite, which would make him dangerously insane.
Most people, by their mid to late 20's, realize that there are situations where, despite the facts, circumstances, etc... being on your side, it is still possible to be on the losing end of a situation. David doesn't always win against Goliath. It can be a matter of money, influence, etc... intangible factors completely beyond ones control, but the "good" guy doesn't always win. Eventually everyone comes across a situation where despite being in the "right" one sees that it is a better decision to "cut bait" than persist at an endeavor that is doomed to ultimate failure despite ones efforts. It all falls collectively under what is probably the most disappointing parts of becoming a functional member of society as an adult, which is "Life's not fair, suck it up, buttercup". Pig seems to think by sheer force of will he can make the universe see things his way, and as we all know, that is nothing more than just pure porcine petulance.
I think it is likely that he will keep "prisoning" and "childing" people until he eventually keels over from a stroke or massive myocardial infarction (or possibly his wife waking from her Prozac induced haze and in a fit of sanity ends him).
