I'm now thinking about which troons (famous or rather thread-famous ones) to cast as the Beast-Folk. Lo-Mai/Leopard-Man, who is the most bestial and unpredictable hybrid in H.G. Wells' story and ends up eschewing "laws" imposed by Dr. Moreau and ultimately euthanized, would obviously be played by a detransitioner.

I actually feel more bad that I have no empathy for them anymore. They choose this and continue to lure more people into doing it and the cycle continues. Unfortunately I lost any empathy for them entirely. It's not a good sign he's not given an update though.

The early modern witch trials being a terrible slaughter or accusation free-for-all is grossly exaggerated tbh, especially in comparison with the justice systems both before and after the period. In general, the early modern could end up killed or exiled just for being under suspicion for any extreme transgression- after all, even if you were very clearly proven innocent, mere association with community drama was sometimes enough. It meant you lacked conformity and couldn't be trusted, and that meant your presence was unwanted. And that risk also went for the accusers.
