Could he? What "good content" could he even make?
You do have a point in the sense that he does not have many skills and his new personality is quite abrasive and constraining. I was more thinking in theory.
There are many ways he could have renewed his content, even straying from the type of content he used to make. With a budget, you can also sub-contract a lot of the video production. It's also not that complicated to understand, reading a few books on traditional and new media should already help quite a bit.
You could argue he kind of tried this with his documentaries on other creators, which was actually a good idea. With these kind of "behind the scene" pieces of content, the audience is there for the creator being followed more than for the host. It's also a good cross promotion tool for both sides. But he gave up on this as well it seems.
At this point though, he is probably too far down the hole to climb back out. At the end of the day, he is just not trying. Keeping your personal life separate from the content is basically the first step, and I don't see this happening.
So in theory, I still believe it is (was) possible. In practice, I don't see it happening either.
ETA; now that I think about it, with the power of editing, he could even have gotten two pieces of content per episode out of the docu series.
One faithful, and one where he manipulates the timeline, the events and cherry picks scenes to create a completely different narrative.
That's pretty much what most actual reality TV shows do. They set up things in such a way that, if needed, they can use cuts to manufacture drama or storylines out of thin air.
I would actually watch something like this. Seems like a fun idea to me.
