*edit. Monty asked for in excess of 50k, not a sum of 50k
It may seem unimportant but in some cases jurisdictional thresholds like this are treated very seriously. I recall a case that got dismissed because the plaintiff pled exactly $75,000 instead of in excess of $75,000 in a diversity jurisdiction case. Imagine losing your case over a penny. I'm pretty sure it was without prejudice but still. Embarrassing.

Yes, which is why legal autists are so horrified by Rekieta's legal strategy and there is some speculation Randazza is taking Rackets for a Ride for reasons of his own dislike.
Tbh even if he is I don't blame him or care. Rackets is a big boy. It's not like Randazza is shearing some innocent lamb. Good or not, Rackets is a lawyer and can be presumed to understand the services he's paying for, and he hasn't been tricked into this. It's entirely possible he even came up with the SLAPP idea himself, although it's well argued enough I'm pretty sure Randazza was in charge of the fine details.

In fact, considering I found the argument entirely outlandish at first, he actually did a pretty good job of making it a close enough call that the appeals court actually ultimately relied on the fifth "tie-breaker" factor they usually don't consider.
He's probably spent 5 times more money in the pre-trial stage before discovery then what he would have had to spend to just admit to everything in his answer and proceed to the damages hearing.

Which IS a viable legal strategy, not one taken very often of course. But it is there.
It's called confession of judgment and is not actually that uncommon. It can be as a partial settlement after litigation starts or, more controversially, a contractual term agreeing to judgment of a hypothetical future event, should it ever occur. It's sometimes accompanied by a liquidated damages clause where the amount is agreed upon in advance.
The Vic case showed his aptitude for fundraising and milking the unfair suit angle. He made shitting on the opposing party, including over the top speculation of sexual deviancy, look like fighting the good fight.
He also didn't have a pickled brain and making fun of someone for being a cuck wouldn't be defamatory per se anyway even if it were false. Similarly it's not defamatory per se to call someone fat, no matter how rudely you do it, even if they aren't fat.

In a fit of shocking retardation, wetbrain Rekieta literally went out of his way to make it a factual statement, then doubled and quadrupled down on it literally being true, but now claims not to remember having even said it at all. He'll look like absolute shit on the stand if he has to go through all his contradictory statements and outright lies.

Sure, though, I suppose if I'm to have control over it, I might as well make have a part in making the OP myself. We could collab on it in DMs
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Shoot me a DM, and I will help in any way I can. @Balldo's Gate is also an excellent resource. Dude's ability to ferret out and retain information puts me to shame.

I don't really think any of this is Randazza's fault.
Neither do I.

I think what happened here is that Randazza thought it would be neat, and quite the feather in his cap, if he could convince the Minnesota judiciary to apply an out-of-state SLAPP law, since the state has none.

However, while he was up to the challenge, I don't think he was up to assuming any risk of not getting paid. Which is why Nick is paying him.

I don't think there's anything untoward here on Randazza's part. If Nick wants to be a dumbass, and go for longshot arguments, that's Nick's problem. Randazza only needs to put in a good faith effort to make those arguments, which he seemed to do.

Put another way: He's not Ty Beard. He probably did as good here as he, or anybody, possibly could.

I am enjoying the Rekieta fall from grace. Or rather the man's year long uninterrupted freefall. All he had to do was keep himself under control. Grift some legal coverage, keep the spending under control during lean times and he would have been set. Now he's paying out the nose, for a lawyer in a case he's probably going to lose. A case that combined with his self-destruction will cost him his family.

Are we going to see the Rekieta suicide arc? Or the Rekieta Troon arc?

It just keeps happening. At this rate Balldo is going to feel the pain of Vic sooner than later.

I'm personally gearing up for the Rekieta divorce arc. I wasn't expecting it to hit this year when we were all making bingo cards, but now I'm not so sure. After the divorce, my money is on the troon arc next. Then the 41% arc.

Between the Rustang and the coom lawyer, as well as all of his other weird expenses like sponsoring Coomalot's stock car racing, I doubt there's much of the Depp money left. Grandpa's pockets are deep enough to support a few bad habits, though.

I guess when Nick made the defamatory statement and didn't immediately cover his ass with a "probably or in minecraft" at the end of the statement, people should have seen his lack of legal knowledge. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, though him nosediving to rock bottom and bringing out the pick axe to dig further has nothing to do with legal knowledge. He should have taken the advice of a friend instead of an enabler who gets pegged in the ass while dressing up as a cow. This just hit me, every person who has been around daxy pad has self emolated except for maybe Sean, and Null but Null ended that friendship.

This woman can't get out of bed to even feed her kids, much less stop her husband from drunk driving them around. You think she has it in her to actually do all the steps and work required to get a divorce going?

She's functionally useless.

I think one day she's going to wake up one day to a call from Schneider-Madsen telling her about how far Nick has fallen and how she can get her grubby paws on 50% of the cash flow from grandpa's trusts. And how they will represent her in the divorce on contingency.

Guys, maybe his appeal didn't go though because his lights weren't set up properly. Asymmetrical lighting and all.
That's the single and truest explanation for ALL of the things that go wrong and look off with this guy. Including the sound of his voice, the audio in his setup is directly affected by the lighting in his room and software.

It also has a magical force that influences lawyers and judges to deny his appeal.

Thinking back to the time he said something like "yeah, you guys tried to give me advise but you guys gave it in a such a faggoty way though" and seeing THIS as one of the results of him doing it his way is giving me such a schadenfreude high like you wouldn't believe. Straight into my veins! The coke you're snorting can't be better than this, Nick! :story:
