Doing things right would be the system getting them help, not slapping them with a bunch of charges honestly. You should want the courts to slap as light as possible where possible.

He might if he’s made to stop the drugs and drink. Because that what caused all of this.

Thing with addicts is they often can’t help themselves. Which tells me Nick’s close family and friends weren’t doing everything they could to stop it. Because sometimes the only thing that can stop it is force. If Nick and his wife honestly care they’ll asked to be heavily monitored for awhile, assuming their family does not make absolutely sure of it.

This is how you can tell people like Meghan et al are not real friends. They wouldn’t be blamming everyone else they’d actively be doing everything to offer tangible help.

And it’s real obvious who in Nick’s circle of internet friends actually has his back and Meghan et al is not it.

I agree with a lot of this but I don't think Nick has it in him to change or admit fault. He doesn't want the systems help and despises it based on all of his lolbertarian hot takes. I've dealt with his exact personality type in my personal life and there is literally nothing any one can do for them. They will string out and die and if you get in the way it is your problem and your fault, not theirs. They are pure ego and arrogance and will wind up alone and dead. People like him don't care and haven't for a long time. All that matters is the next fix.

I hope the kids can be saved, but the parents are done for. If this episode doesn't wake them up, nothing will. I wouldn't bet on it.

Some guy went and checked the local & state police scanners and supposedly there was no wellness check, traffic stop, or 911 call recorded.

What does that leave? CPS call? Confidential informant? Concerned family member that signed a statement giving the police probable cause / exigent circumstances? Idk.

I will reiterate this because I think it got lost. I checked the Kandiyohi county police scanners, the Willmar police scanner, and the local state police scanner for the morning, and got nothing. It wasn't a 911 call, and it wasn't a traffic stop. I think this also rules out a wellness check - several wellness checks happened between 7:00 am and 11:00 am in Kandiyohi county, and none went to Nick's door.

It might have been a CPS call or some other state agency with arrest powers that brought him in - I am actually leaning in that direction. It could also have been the ATF or FBI or some federal garbage too, given how they show up at the doors of random gun owners and republicans.

It would have been well within Aaron Imholte's pettiness to call CPS on the Rekietas.
