I think there is an acceptable level of dirt at home, and in those circumstances they wouldn't mention it. But they did. So it was beyond normal.
Like, if the sink or even half the kitchen would be filled with dirty dishes then that's normal for a big family. But if you have moldy bowls with old cereal, or half eaten takeaways stinking up the place and laying around in bedrooms - yeah that's not normal.
But especially with dust, I don't think anyone was conducting a housekeeping inspection with a white glove lol. So if the cops noticed a thick layer of dust (and mind you, they just had the whole ordeal with trying to get into house) - it must have been THICK. We are talking sticky, thick layer that probably indicates that nobody cleaned anything in months. Which then also means - that's attracting insects, and is affecting breathing, may cause allergy and is just not healthy, especially for young kids who often play on the floor, lick their hands and such.

Yeah, I don't know what to make of this. On the one hand, I can easily see the Rekietas having a pretty filthy home, especially given the drug abuse and departure of the maid/nanny/whatever.

On the other hand, cops are hardly reliable when it comes to shit like this, and could easily be exaggerating.
