Some states will allow the defendant to change judges once as a matter of right if they apply within two(?) weeks of the initial plea.No because otherwise any criminal defendant could just recuse out every judge in their town by just insulting them. I think Fischer has shown sufficient bias against Nick personally, though, and his clients, that he'd have at least some basis for a motion to recuse. It would probably have to go to appeal, though, and she's been more careful since that embezzling case he lost.
Judges really don't care if this happens because it's one less case on their docket. Minnesota rule (26.03) seems to state Rackets has until 7 days before the first omnibus or evidentiary hearing to file a notice of removal.
In a small circuit like Rackets' changing judges is probably a waste of effort unless you can demonstrate that the judge has it out for your client.
