The problem of getting off drugs is it puts them back to square one of being acutely aware of how depressing and dead their marriage is and how their children will never know happy family life again. I don't know if there's a solution to that which both leaves them in a sustainable position, and has the kids safe, loved and cared for. They need to divorce but that immediately jeopardises the kids' situation with so much being tied to Nick's family wealth.
