Apparently none of them were if the drama from a while back is to be believed
These things happen in independent circles. A few years back, I was part of a podcast that was very highly produced by knowledgeable people, but never quite "made it". It was two years of work for everyone involved, and since I was on the Patreon to help support it, I technically paid them for my work. There were no contracts for anyone, and since I had a massive falling out with the main creator, they wiped my name from pretty much everything. I still have my notes and emails but those aren't worth shit.

The chances of making the big time are so low that the vast majority of people who sign up for these things do so because it's fun, or their friend has called in a favour, or they are desperately trying to fatten up their portfolio. No contracts are signed, handshake promises are rarely honoured, and on the low, low, low chance that the project does go professional, 99% of the people originally involved in it will absolutely get screwed over.

Wow that reminds me of a certain aspiring mangaka lolcow doing the exact same things to his employees that brought me to the Farms...

Monostar Leatherknuckles you won't get away. You are here forever.

Found it kind of funny how Erica lindbeck voiced the daughter of the devil in most recent Smiling Friends episode. Probably nothing mean spirited but still kinda funny

Lindbeck is just the chick that Oney managed to finagle as their recurring female voice. She's in a whole bunch of this show's episodes as whichever girl of the week. Dunno if she's ever been part of the Newgrounds clique, but she is friends with LittleKuriboh and has been doing anime VA work for around a decade. I know her best as Vita Clotilde from Trails of Coldsteel.

I think the thing that gets me about Helluva is that up to episode 7, the show was pretty episodic that only gave small bits of character depth that was actually interesting. Hell at the time, Episode 7 was at least fun and the episode meant to be after it was just a decent follow up (shame about Episode 8's schedule).

But then the show becomes more of an overarching story about a soap opera and the comedy elements quickly dwindle to nothing. Even if it's not connected, the show is clearly more about solving these characters personal issues.

The fact it was something better at first makes Helluva's downfall more infuriating than from Hazbin's pilot to Amazon Series fall since it straight up went for a more serialized story right away than showing us something good to then take it away.
Episode 7 is when the show really started focusing more on the serial drama instead of episodic comedy. Well, technically it was episode 5, since that's when episodes started ending on cliffhangers instead of jokes. But episode 7 is what brought the Stolitz aspect to the forefront, and officially made Stolas a main character instead of a side one.

Part of me wonders how much the Fandom influenced the writing for Helluva Boss. Since it doesn't have a set time schedule for when episodes are supposed to be released and most episodes weren't pre-planned, we can really only theorize when something was initially written. I'm not saying it's the case for everything, but you can't tell me that the overly sweetness of Asmodeus and Fizz's relationship wasn't because of how the fans reacted to their initial debut. Season 1 Asmodeus and Fizzaroli are a whole lot different than season 2's versions.

Yeah they felt like they were going to be antagonists who were mainly a foil for Blitz and Stolas. Not that they did much villainous things but they clearly had beef with the two.

Blitzo forgiving Fizz is a fine idea and the stuff with Mammon is good too but it feels like Viv just rushed the development so she can show more "wholesome" yaoi and angst.

While Hazbin rushed many things, that had the excuse of Amazon giving Viv a limited amount of episodes to work with and probably not knowing season 2 would be greenlit.

Helluva Boss has full creative freedom (for now) with no restraints.

Nah, nah, I'm hearing you out on this one. I love Angel Dust's old designs so much. I understand they had to tone it down for the sake of animation
Did they really have to tone it down, though? Ed, Edd n Eddy was a show with jilted, whacky character designs and movements and it pulled it off spectacularly. I’m sure something could have been done for Hazbin. It would have benefited from a messier, more chaotic artstyle in the vein of John Kricfalusi (which I got major vibes from in the earlier concept art for HH’s characters). The Amazon show looks too…clean.

Oh no I mean Viv just straight up didn't pay her animators. They were making literal slave wages, as low as a third of minimum wage

The days when you could could overwork your artists for only pennies a day. All jokes aside, there was no way in Hell we were going to get even a smidgen of animation like the pilot with Bento Box on the reigns. Nothing personal against the studio; they're just not exactly know for their..."eccentric animation". Why else do you think they had to get Spindlehorse animators to help with the season finale of Hazbin Hotel?

Now could that change for season 2 of Hazbin Hotel? It's possible. The money is there to pay for it. It just really depends if that money will go towards it or not.

I mean I can see why it reminds you of John K, it wouldn't surprise me if Viv was also a predator lol

Nahh, I don't think Viv would be a predator. Not because that's beneath her or anything, fuck no would I put it past a Fujo to be a predator, I just don't buy that she'd be attracted enough to somebody to creep on them unless maybe it's like that one time the Twelve Forever creator bragged about stalking a teenage boy and wishing his mother wasn't with him.
