In my experience, asexual people fall into one of three categories.
1: People who have been molested, raped, in an abusive relationship, etc who now have trauma regarding sex.
2: Autistic or otherwise neurodivergent people who may have a hard time relating to other people and genuinely don't "get" the idea of desiring sex or romance.
3: People with Peter Pan Syndrome who see sex and dating as the ultimate Grown Up Thing, so find it distasteful because they aren't mature enough to handle it.

I would imagine that's pretty good considering he's out in... I want to say Nova Scotia? I mean if he was in Toronto or Vancouver that kind of money could get them a rented room somewhere if they're lucky. I saw some webpage months ago where people were renting out closets or just a mattress on the floor for $900 a month. Housing prices up there are crazy.
