Marrick Garland is the current Attorney General for the US. He was cucked out of a SCOTUS seat during Obama's term and has been salty ever since. He's the one that ordered the raid on Mar-A-Lago and is a giant piss ant with the DOJ as his weapon.

To dive a bit more in depth to that, he ordered the raid on Mar-A-Lago apparently without okaying it with the rest of the admin, as a rogue action. Major fuckup, of the "constitutional crisis, history making, better be damned sure you're gonna find something" variety. Found absolutely fucking nothing.

But apparently it got even worse -- not only did they not find anything, not only did the agents involve taint all the evidence, but he authorized them to go in armed. On some level, Garland thought that there was a chance Trump would resist and his goons could [redacted] in response.

Oh and then it became blatantly obvious that Senator or maybe VP Biden was doing the thing that PRESIDENT Trump was doing, the difference being that Trump legally could do so at least in theory, but there was absolutely no way Biden could have. Oh, and Biden's house was wide open vs Mar-A-Lago being locked down tight by the SS. Something that would have remained buried if not for Garland making it an issue.

I'm frankly gobsmacked he's still got a job, but he's minimally competent so that makes him a veritable genius for the admin he's a part of.

Garland was fully intended to be a lifelong Obama crony on SCOTUS would would help usher in the Great New Future as dreamed by the left, riding out a lifelong appointment and filling part of a Democrat SCOTUS supermajority after Hillary had her chance. Had Garland successfully been appointed I imagine one of his first real acts of service to them would have been to tilt SCOTUS along with the then-living Ginsburg to deny Trump his 2016 win the same way Bush v Gore went for the left. They still haven't forgotten or forgiven that, and they will NEVER forgive Garland getting snubbed for that lifetime job. The fact that Ginsburg croaked and Trump got to name 3 new justices really just made it more of a jihad than it already was for the left.

Specifically, Trump had a bunch of boxes of stuff from the whitehouse. He's allowed to do that. Classification is, by definition, at the President's behest -- if he decides something isn't classified, it's not classified.

Some federal agency wanted the documents back, but when he tried to give them back they refused to take them. (Trump should have raised holy hell at this point as this was them setting him up.) They looked into how he was storing them, said "make sure that door has a lock on it, and we're good", and that's it.

Those boxes had some classified material in them. This is normal, every ex-President has documents like this. They were alongside shit like magazines with Trump's picture on the cover. The impression Based Dilbert Merchant suggested was that the people charged with emptying out Trump's desks at the White House said "we need to get this done now, is this secret, top secret, or what?" and said "no one ever got in trouble for accidentally OVER-categorizing something," and just threw everything into top secret boxes and away they went.

The FBI took all that stuff out, added their own classified material in scary colored classified material labels to the pile for a photo op, and put the Trump stuff back in the boxes... randomly. That destroys the evidence of how they were stored beforehand.

So they found nothing they could nail Trump on, unless you take the bold legal stance of "he's not REALLY the President cause It Was Her Turn, so the rules don't count for him," but at the same time, they tainted the "evidence" they think they have on him.

Oh, and to clarify further -- Biden was storing the classified docs he had, which he had gained while Senator or Vice President -- who do not, in fact, have the right to declassify things at will like a President -- in his garage. Now that we know what we're looking for there are multiple photos of boxes of classified documents in photo ops he did back in the day. IIRC Hunter was also living in that house, you know, Hunter, who has made a career out of selling influence to foreign assets and embezzling foreign aid for his father?

The USA used to be pretty big into using tariffs for funding and protectionist purposes.

This era of American trade and economic history has a rather mixed legacy.

I'm a big believer in the Laffer Curve, that you can reduce the tax rate and also increase total revenue because of the increased economic activity.

However, I don't believe going to 0 would work at all. As usual, the problem isn't so much a revenue problem as a spending one, so even if you max out total government income they'll probably just raising spending on the negroes and whatever to offset it.

I personally am I fan of the idea of having a single set low income tax of say, 5-10% alongside higher tariffs. And have that 5-10 locked in place as the default. Any increase to it must be temporary, with a clearly defined reason and goal, and lasting no more than 2 years. Why 2 years? Because -representative- seats last that long. Meaning any renewal of the increase will have to be defended every election cycle. And by requiring a specific stated reason the people, who generally aren't very interested, have something to rally behind every time.
