If this is a forgery, it has been done by a sophisticated actor. This isn't a jilted ex-lover, a locals fool or a Sektur troll. The attention to detail and numerous layers of deceit alongside it being a crime where they could actually be caught points to serious intent.

Real or false, this person was screaming something in their head when posting:

SUFFA RACKETS!
Lending support to this: If it's whole-cloth fake then on a technical level, I am impressed. The metadata, the scanning quality being consistent with an office MFP. Nothing looks 'too good' or terribly bad. The names all if not lining up then being plausibly involved. These are details that most fakers fuck up even if each on their own is near-trivial to reproduce.

As others have said more likely is that details could be falsified so some caution is warranted. I'm at least at /ourlawyer/'s 60% figure.

Edit for typo and to say: Also whoever leaked this holy shit you are brave and/or stupid. Gosney and Sean's 'Radioactive' line is correct.

If this is true I will go in the morning to my courthouse to verify it's existence. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to verify it's existence? Maybe a newspaper from that day and photo of the document on the court computer?
It's a complete coin toss if it'll be available for viewing Thursday morning but I'll give it a college try and post what I found in this thread Thursday morning unless it's resolved earlier.

Even confirmation of the terminals and what you can generally find on them (even if this is swept up by then) would be nice to know.

Make the secret kiwi handsignal in your photo, you know the one.

For anyone wondering if this could be a scenario where kayla's filthy coke hands contaminated the girls hair and resulted in a false positive. Cocaine exposure on a child’s head, such as accidental contact or contamination, is unlikely to result in a positive hair follicle test for cocaine. The test detects metabolites within the hair shaft, and external exposure typically does not lead to significant drug incorporation into the hair follicle.

If this is true it is undeniable fact that a 9 year old child has been doing cocaine regularly

Is hair testing kids a normal thing in the USA? Hair testing is an expensive and slow procedure. I'd have expected them to urine test the kids first, and then hair test them if a positive result showed up.
Hair testing can detect drug use over a longer duration of time. A piss test only picks up drug use in the short term.

Any office drone knows RICOH printers/scanners and this is the shittiest scanning I’ve ever seen from these printers. This looks like someone would’ve scanned it page by page when anyone trying to get this scanned quickly would use the automatic top loader, which would not have all the smudges from the screen.

The judge signature is from Adobe Sign and can be created by literally anyone. This does not mean anything.

I don’t believe they’d have to slapdash this thing together. There are existing templates and documents these offices can and do utilize, no way a government bureaucrat creates every one of these from scratch. This filing is fucking sloppy by even lax government standards.

I think it’s a forgery. Whoever forged it did their homework for sure. I think they tried too hard to make it look genuine.

Part of me thinks if this is fake Nick would be one of the most likely people to originate this document for exactly this reason. Fake it, make it look real, and drop it at an opportune time for attention. Assuming it isn't traced back to him it makes his arguments that this is some witch-hunt stronger. Certainly not the best strategy overall, but one of the only ones that could see this mostly go away. If it works he could get back to his addictions and that's not really an option in any other circumstance.

Yeah this is why I think it is fake as well. Nick could fake it and at least attempt to argue that. If it's real, the prosecution has no reason to leak it, and that would mean Nick did it. I don't see his own lawyer risking being disbarred over as hopeless (and deserved) an L as the one lined up for Nick about the drug possession. And if Nick leaked it himself he's banking on MN state not having an adequate data forensics team (likely) to avoid literally getting another felony and, if he's going to use this possible crime for his defense, probably getting hit with at least a decade in prison on possession for undermining the integrity of the court.

It's on every page though.
Except the first.
My guess.
Public terminal. Phone camera to snap every page and they left the cursor there and just went through the pages and then used an app to make an original PDF. Print that. Scan that back in at a copy shop and send that out. Obfusicates the source nicely, no sending a PDF with phone metadata, etc.

the cursor is there because these are screenshots. the smudges are there because there were likely fingerprints on the screen and the contrast was bumped way up before they were converted to bitmap images. the images are faded at the top because of the reflected lights, which happens when you are trying to keep your phone low and hidden.

what are the odds this was released by nick to throw a wrench into his case? if so, we are doing exactly what he would want. would he have access to this? I guess if he responds to the questioning at all tonight, we'll know, guy can't keep a secret for shit.
