As a dad of an autistic kiddo, I can confirm it’s tough on a marriage to raise a special needs kid. Especially if one person in the relationship has thier own psychological problems.
I know a lot of couples that tough it out, just because it’s too scary to go it alone raising an autistic kid, I’m one of them myself. and I know some couples where the dad just fucks off and leaves the mom by herself with the kid, and I know others where one parent just buries themselves in work and leaves the other parent to handle all the meltdowns and tantrums.
If it takes a village to raise a neurotypical child, it’s a god damn city to raise an autistic child the right way. It’s both parents working together, communicating all the time, working with therapists, the schools, etc.
When he mentioned his daughter was in the spectrum, I had hoped that because he can be flexible with his schedule he could make it work. It looks like he couldn’t.
Shoulda took one for the home team and gave his wife a good dickin twice a week.
