Not redemption. He will take a deferred adjudication plea. Kayla will divorce him after her counselor convinces her that she can't be clean and with Nick at the same time and she can't have her kids without being clean. His plea will include dropping charges against Kayla.

Nick will realize he likes the visitation model for kids, move out to the city close to sex and drugs.

On his channel, he'll complain about how the government forces dads to take plea deals even when they did nothing wrong. He'll also say he's not talking about his case, just in general. Then he'll identify as a dad who gets screwed in divorces. Barnes will like him even more.

The race will be trying to give everything to Kayla in divorce before his civil lawsuit concludes. He'll get tagged with a judgement and file for bankruptcy when he has nothing.

So divorced, bankrupt, city living, ranting against the government.

If the lawyer suing him has any sense, he'll get a lien on their house.

He spent a few hours in jail when he was booked, sure, but there remains a fair-to-middling possibility he'll do real time either in county or in prison. However hellish (or not) incarceration may be for him, time in a tiny concrete box tends to focus the mind. A hopeless and homeless drunk, I had my moment of clarity in a jail cell, for example, and called out to a God I didn't believe in to let me die or make me well. He made me well, for which I'm eternally grateful. Life is good.

So maybe, just maybe Rekieta will have a similar experience. You never know.

I tend to think Nick will have a tougher time with either probation or rehab than prison. I wonder if he has the ability to stay clean on probation. Especially if its a few years.
