As you'll see, Nick's initial attorney Weber and Kayla's initial attorney Mueller were not their selection and instead were court-appointed on May 24th in the midst of the emergency placement. Then, Nick had White replace Weber on June 14th to represent Nick only, and White filed June 17th discovery requests leading to the state's two disclosures that were naturally sent to "all parties" which would have included Kayla's court-appointed attorney.
Then on July 9th, the second business day after whatever was in that July 5th supplemental disclosure, Kayla all of a sudden hires her own attorney Kluver to replace Mueller, and Kluver appeared to be in quite a hurry to file a unilateral appearance and file new discovery requests on Kayla's behalf before even bothering to get around to having Mueller cosign a substitution later that day. Why on earth would Kayla go to all that trouble when joint representation by White would have been more efficient, and why on earth would Kayla's attorney be so concerned about making completely redundant discovery requests when surely every disclosure already provided to Nick through White would have also made its way to Kayla through Weber via Kayla's totally functional email address and/or via the shared mailbox where she and Nick are totally still living together? So odd...
