Sure but did it ever actually work?
Who can really say, last time his vp was a white guy and Biden already had the black vote and they didn't even like him. It's just a long time of programming that repubs hate you so where else you got to go? Even though both parties are ultimately kind of ass, it sucks one side gets to be free of a lot of scrutiny

It's stupid because the same people will claim that Trump is a psychopath, and he very well could be, but isn't a lack of fear a symptom of psychopathy?
Lol - if everyone who fails to cower in fear when shot at is a psychopath, it would be really hard to have a military full of soldiers who are going to be be shot at constantly.

The fact that Trump was not intimidated doesn't mean he's a psycho, it means he's a real man and not a nu male of today. The one person we saw who was frozen by fear was that secret service lady behind Trump failing to do her job and protect him, because she was scared and confused.

Vance is white and young and has developed into a "mini-Trump" of sorts after being a critic of him in 2016.

He wrote Hillbilly Elegy before Trump got big. You could call him a proto-populist, junior nationalist before Trump made those ideas suddenly popular. If Trump hadn't come along, you could easily see Vance taking up the anti-elite banner a few years later, though with less fire and success.

J D VANCE: There is an ethnic component lurking in the background of my story. In our race-conscious society, our vocabulary often extends no further than the color of someone's skin - black people, Asians, white privilege. Sometimes these broad categories are useful. But to understand my story, you have to delve into the details.

I may be white, but I do not identify with the WASPs of the Northeast. Instead, I identify with the millions of working-class white Americans of Scots-Irish descent who have no college degree. To these folks, poverty's the family tradition. Their ancestors were day laborers in the southern slave economy, sharecroppers after that, coal miners after that, and machinists and mill workers during more recent times. Americans call them hillbillies, rednecks or white trash. I call them neighbors, friends and family.

I think Vance is the worst person Trump could pick. Back in 2016, and 2017. Vance would constantly spew "Never Trump" talking points about the threat of White supremacy and how Trump is recruiting racist into the MAGA movement.
He admitted he was wrong about Trump and apologized and I think that says a lot about his character.

a lot of populists, like anti-gwot populists, think trump is a grifter who does the bare minimum for the people. Trump could do way more for the people.

I agree that that is likely part of it.

Had he truly had no fear he would’ve stood up and made a joke. So I think we’re both equally right.
Had he just been hit in the ear and had another person not been killed and others injured I think he likely would have stayed and finished it teddy Roosevelt style but doing that under those circumstance would have looked bad.

What's worrying about that? It's a fine Ulster Scottish name. It was changed to Vance (a Bonglish name) because he was adopted by his maternal grandparents after his parents divorced. You should stop sperging about the infinite jews under ever unturned stone and pay attention to reality for a change. You'll feel better.

Trump should have picked a person of color.
He's swarthy. Close enough.
