I knew nothing about Vance so I decided to look him up. He apparently wrote a book that got turned into a Netflix movie directed by Ron Howard? Kinda funny since Howard has been pretty critical of Trump in the past.

He's had quite the political career, he was seen as this big person to talk to during Trump's first term if you were a liberal wanting to see things from a rural perspective. Then in the 2020s he went full Republican and won an election in 2022.

Vance's strongpoint is America First for middle class families, for towns and cities to have places for people to work and feel like they have purpose in life. He's best at talking about how the rustbelt and middle class has been eroded.

Seems highly illegal, nearly impossible to enforce, and a great way to alienate anyone who rents property. It will also effectively kill development since no one will be willing to lay out the money to buy and develop land only to rent it at what the government says is ok.

Vance seems like a gamble considering what is known about him, would've preferred Flynn or Carson but maybe Trump wanted someone he thinks is a loyalist.

Flynn would have been fine but Carson is so low energy.
