I think it was smart to pick someone so young, and who used to be critical of him. It makes the point that political opponents can change their mind and be on the same team.
Pretty much.

It absolutely falls in line with Trump's comments over the past 2 days to "Unify America."

Personally, I trust a "reformed Never Trumper/Democrat" over a lifelong establishment do-nothing Republican all day, any day.

Its also smart that Vance is young in that Trump is old. I think this on purpose because of Biden. Kind of a bit of insurance. That and it gets the younger vote, who have been bitching about it always being a fight against geriatrics. It seems very tactical.

This is niggertalk.

Nigger is a shibboleth in 2024. It isn't to be cool or edgy but to prove to someone you aren't in the tank for globohomo. As you are too scared to break their religious taboo for fear of reprisal.
>No you have to talk like an uneducated negro to prove you aren’t a dirty liberal.

Language policing is one of the gayest things you can do go outside and touch a sliver of grass.

A conservative firebrand and one of X's heavyweight political pundits weighs in on the JD Vance pick:

Being serious about loyalty IS being serious about winning. Trump doesn't need 55% of the popular vote or some such. He only needs to flip shit he didn't have in 2020, that's it.

Would have probably immediately ignited a civil war within the US and with that World War 3 at large as well as literally every single country would take advantage of the US being in utter internal turmoil, but sure.
As for the two candidates, first-past-the-post voting means that a state only ever goes for one party/candidate (except IIRC Nebraska and Maine) so multiple candidates simply serve to split the vote.
That's gonna happen IF Trump gets to power, due to his collaboration with both Russia and China.

I'm reserving my judgment of Vance until I see what Trump and him have planned for what issues he'll tackle and how he will be used as VP.

From a domestic standpoint, he's a solid pick. He understands some of the key issues reds and blues have with day to day life. But VPs are rarely ever given the opportunity to handle things at home. I agree with the previous sentiment that Trump should handle foreign policy since he's a businessman and diplomacy isn't too far off from business dealings.

I want to see if Trump will put Vance to work in a position that highlights his strengths. Vance is not a diplomat by any means, which is why I'm hesitant. Vivek or Flynn would've been a better pick if Trump wanted to delegate more traditional duties to his VP.
