According to Wikipedia, VRChat (or VRC for short) is an "online virtual world platform [that] allows users to interact with others with user-created 3D avatars and worlds." According to VRChat's own community guidelines, VRChat is a PG-13 game (meaning children as young as 13-years-old are allowed to play).
As another platform built off of user-generated content that is targeted towards children, VRChat has many of the same exact problems that the "child-friendly" game Roblox does, just with arguably worse moderation, as just about every form of degeneracy that you can imagine is alive, well, and flourishing on the platform (as well as within the enormous off-platform ecosystem on Discord and Twitter), with little chance that anything will ever be done about it by mods or community leaders. But before we get into that, let's set the foundation.
Skimming the Surface
Most people's first time hearing about VRChat was from the Ugandan Knuckles meme in early 2018, with clips of VRC users running around yelling at people while wearing Ugandan Knuckles avatars receiving millions of views and cementing the game's place within popular gaming and meme culture online:
Jameskii, the uploader of the second video above, has received hundreds of millions of views on his "VRChat in a Nutshell" series. However, there's something that the opening of Jameskii's first VRC video shows:

VRChat being built on the Unity game engine makes it very simple for people familiar with 3D modelling to create custom avatars. This has allowed for a sizeable industry of custom avatar commissions to become popular on platforms like Fiverr and Etsy, with even sites intended for aspiring VTubers offering custom VRC avatars as a service:

(You'll notice all of the advertising for custom avatars showcases either anime or furries. That should give you a picture of the demographics that permeate VRC.)
However, who wants to shell out hundreds of real-world dollars for an avatar you won't even get to look at while playing? This is a virtual reality (inherently first-person) game after all - nobody wants to spend all that money just so other people can see it. And hell - even if you're using an avatar you didn't pay for, you're still likely to pick one you think looks cool, and the same standard applies: most people would want to see it for themselves!
So naturally, this leads to large toggleable mirror-walls being a must-include feature for any world aiming to be popular with the wider VRC userbase, which in turn has led to a rise in people called "mirror dwellers", people who unironically spend hours upon hours of their day just sitting in front of a VR mirror, staring at themselves (or rather, their avatar), in a weird, creepy, pseudo-dysmorphic display of antisocial narcissism.
I can't stress enough that this is something that is seen everywhere in the game - it is impossible to play this game and not run into someone with thousands of hours on the game, almost all of which were spent sitting in front of a mirror. It's downright mundane to find people that have thrown years of their life away simply to prolong their unhealthy connection to this game.
One of the most popular worlds in the game, "1's Optimized Box", is just a large, room-sized, featureless cube with a huge fuckin' mirror as one of its walls. Obviously, when large groups of people are gathered in front of a mirror, they do tend to chat with each other (which is the whole point of the game), but for every group of people that interacts with mirrors normally, there are always a few off to the side that are just sitting there, staring at nothing but themselves, for hours.
One other semi-common unhealthy quirk among the VRC userbase is "Phantom Sense" (a.k.a. "Phantom Touch"), the claim / belief that one is so immersed within the virtual reality of the game that their brain tricks them into feeling whenever another user touches their in-game avatar.
As I'm sure you can guess, the people that tend to claim they have phantom sense are the mentally ill, neo-Tumblrina, special snowflake attention-whore types. Similarly to how xenogenders, otherkins, and other bizarre, made-up self-identification labels were highly sought after by terminally online SJW types back in the mid-2010's, phantom sense has become a unique, quirky group that appeals to the same demographic, as evidenced by the small cottage industry of "HOW TO GET PHANTOM SENSE" videos on YouTube:
It's not uncommon to find one of these types loudly announcing to everyone around them that they have phantom touch and that you shouldn't touch them, because of how triggering it is for them. Naturally, this has led to trolls often singling out phantom sense tartlets for their tomfoolery - if all it takes to get a reaction from them is poking them, then why wouldn't they?

However, with the type of shit that we're about to cover, you'll wish that the worst people on this game were just unchecked obsessive narcissists and neurotically delusional snowflakes.
Lifting Up the Stone
Let's begin this section with some statistics showcased in one of YouTuber BrandonFM's documentaries about VRChat. These stats were obtained through an amateur 78-question survey that was answered by 1,000 VRC users that were approached in the most popular worlds in the game and taken to a private world to complete the survey. While the findings have not been independently published by the "Joseph S." that ran the study, they track with my own understanding of the game's culture and haven't been widely contested by anyone of note within the VRC community.
- 88% of participants said they are addicted to VRChat.
- 42% said they have put VRChat over their own personal needs.
- 59% said VRChat has made them feel depressed.
- 76% said VRChat has made them feel lonely.
- 66% also said they would likely feel even lonelier if they left VRChat.
- 74% said they have been diagnosed with a mental illness.
- 31% said VRChat has been the cause of suicidal thoughts.
- 46% said they drink alcohol while playing VRChat.
- 31% said they take drugs while playing.
- 83% said VRChat's culture encourages drinking.
- 62% said they had sexual advances made towards them in VRChat.
Well, VRChat has a nightlife.
Bar worlds are very popular gathering places, with some, such as The Midnight Bar, being commonly listed among the top trending worlds, cross-platform:

Bar worlds are often equipped with built-in fake drink functionality that applies some form of distortion affect to the user's vision when drinking, but a large portion of people that attend VR bars are actually drinking IRL when they do so. This alone wouldn't be too much of an issue, so long as entry to these bars was gatekept to those who are over 18, right?
However, most people running bar world instances shy away from doing full-on IRL ID checks, as many users would view that as an unreasonably high barrier to entry and a potential invasion of privacy just to enter one bar instance when they could just world-hop to another instance with laxer entry guidelines, so the happy medium that's been reached across most bar worlds is to simply ask for age and year of birth. Naturally, this extremely permissive level of self-moderation has led to a serious problem of children slipping through the cracks and joining 18+ worlds being viewed as normal and acceptable by many:
This problem becomes even worse when you factor in that, as briefly mentioned earlier, VRChat allows for private "Friends+" lobbies that are invite only, allowing for incidents like the below, of a child joining a private Spin The Bottle lobby filled with adults who encourage the child to participate with IRL alcohol and (allegedly) engage in sexual acts with one of the adults in a closet:

But 18+ worlds don't just stop with bars and drinking games - just like Second Life, VRChat is also home to an entire ecosystem of virtual stripclubs. Thankfully, the overwhelming majority of these worlds are kept private (and/or PCVR-only, which keeps out a lot of the kids who get on VRC via a Meta Quest headset), with entry only being given to those who actually verify their age over each individual club's Discord server. However, the reliability of these ID checks can vary from club to club, as we'll get into later.

Jonathan Lee Rossmoine / skywalkerdata

From August 19th, 2020 to September 27th, 2020, the 36-year-old Jonathan Rossmoine (pictured above, ain't he a looker?) was secretly living in the closet of a 15-year-old girl without her parents' knowledge. Rossmoine, originally from Louisiana, traveled to the girl's house in Spring Hill, Florida after meeting her online. During his time hiding in her closet, he and his underaged victim would have sex two to three times a day, according to Rossmoine. He was eventually discovered by the girl's parents, leading to the police being called and Rossmoine ultimately being sentenced to fifteen years in prison for having sexual relations with a minor.
The girl stated to police that she had met Rossmoine about two years prior on VRChat.

The skywalkerdata Steam account appears to have remained inactive following Rossmoine's arrest, suggesting it was indeed his. While the trail of information on Rossmoine's online activities ends there, it's certainly enough to paint a characteristically disgusting picture of what he was doing on VRChat.
But what happens when a predator is much more open about their activities, to the point of running a YouTube channel and TikTok page with their predatory activities being the central purpose of their content?

It should, because the exact same thing that happened on Twitch and Skype in 2015 is happening right now on VRChat and Discord. To be more specific: back in 2015, trolls would find underaged, low-viewer streamers on Twitch, convince them from the chat that they were a Twitch employee, further convince them that their stream was laggy or whatever, and finally, convince them (either from the chat or by having them hop on Skype) that to fix the problem with their stream, they needed to microwave their computer battery, poor milk into their router, rub butter on their keyboard, or anything else the troll could get the kid to do.
This practice died out back around 2015-2016, but this "Bubblebowl Technologies" group has seemingly adopted the playbook outlined above for use on VRChat players (specifically players who are underaged and/or especially mentally ill), with the intention of luring them off of the game and onto Discord, having them destroy their VR headset (often in a manner which puts their victim in IRL danger), and further humiliating them in anyway the trolls can manage (in a manner very reminiscent of MaximilianMus, the Foodists, and their depraved ilk).
Prior to their channel's termination, the group put out a total of three videos, all archived below (and here):
This video contains:
- An instruction to "NOT tattle" on the "Meta Support Moderator", as "your parents do not know enough about the Quest headset to guide you through this process".
- A video of a girl rubbing butter in the eye-lenses of her headset and microwaving it.
- A video of a father arguing with the group after his child had put their headset in the bathtub.
- A video of a girl on the verge of a breakdown while showing the smoking remains of her headset in the microwave. Her distressed mother asks her "Why did you do this!? What is this for!?" One of the group members says the girl shouldn't have put the headset in the microwave, to which the girl shrieks "YOU TOLD ME TO!!!"
- A video of someone's headset on fire in their microwave.
- This video includes some overdubbed commentary claiming this target was a fart fetishist and that the group also locked them out of their computer.
- A video of a child microwaving their headset, along with the phone that they are connected to Discord over.
- A video of a boy microwaving his headset, which ends with the group collectively berating him and threatening to ban his Meta account for being angry at them, to which the child responds with a timid "sorry".
- A video of another boy microwaving his headset. The boy panics after a few moments of it sparking and rushes to open the microwave and grab the headset, but it burns his hand and he drops it onto the floor. The boy's mother comes in, to which the group vebrally berates her and her son.
This video contains:
- A video of a tranny smearing peanut butter all over his headset.
- A video of a boy pouring Clorox on his head and rubbing it into his hair with a toilet brush, putting his headset in his toilet, drinking soapy toilet water and eating toilet paper, brushing his teeth with the toilet brush, dumping all of his towels in his shower and turning it on, and loosening the valves under his sink to cause a leak.
- A video of an old man(?) that sounds like Chris Chan covering his headset in baby powder.
- The video claims this target was a pedophile - I would not be surprised if this were true.
- A video of a retarded-sounding Asian man letting his bathroom sink's faucet run into the mask of his brother's headset and microwaving it until his fire alarm is going off.
- A video of a man (age unclear) microwaving his headset until it is on fire.
This video contains a mentally deficient Asian man (that seems young and still lives with his mother):
- smearing (cat?) shit into the mask of his headset,
- sticking shit in his mouth and gagging,
- sticking shit in his mouth again and chewing it,
- smearing shit on his forehead,
- putting his headset into his mini-oven,
- dunking his VR controllers into the shit water in his toilet and then putting them in his sink,
- disconnecting the pipes under his sink and turning the faucet on, causing a massive leak,
- washing his hair in the shit water in his sink,
- drinking the shit water in the toilet,
- covering his shower drain with a towel to stop his slowly-flooding bathroom from draining, then leaving and closing the door,
- dumping all of his cat food onto the floor and stomping around in it, getting it everywhere,
- repeatedly stabbing his TV with a screwdriver while crying,
- using a pair of pliers as a blunt object to bust the pipes behind his toilet, causing another leak,
- taking the lid off the back of his toilet and repeatedly slamming it into the toilet bowl until it's completely destroyed, and
- throwing a large chunk of porcelain from his toilet out of his window, with it shattering on the pavement outside.
I imagine you can understand why I was interested in learning more about the depraved freak behind this channel.

With some crossover with the TriHard community, the Thugposters are another community with a considerable amount of "ironic" degeneracy among its members, as evidenced by Chester going on to beg retards into eating shit on camera.

Upon Mrow's video about SonicOwO being posted, Sonic would file a false privacy complaint and get it taken down. This in turn led to Mrow making a more comprehensive video on him, which is still up. The privacy complaint also led to Daniel gaining the attention of notable commentator HarleyTBS (resulting in another video about him) (a), and also gaining my attention, earning him a spot in this thread. Big ups Barbara Streisand.
