Arabic isn't "almost a requirement" to be a Muslim if you aren't an Arab. It's definitely a requirement to be an imam, but as with Roman Catholics of old you only need to memorize a few dozen phrases and passages to get by as an adherent if you're a Turk or Somali or whatever. The questions would be half trolls and half Pakistani Bongs and other awful halfcaste people who don't belong in our countries but can't function in their parents'.

Much as with Rabbinical Judaism and Roman Catholicism, the outsourcing of moral judgement to clerical authority as well as legalistic faith means that for many adherents piety is as much about finding a cleric or other authority willing to make loopholes and exceptions to rules you don't or won't follow as it is finding rules you are happy and able to follow to accrue brownie points. The sorts of questions asked are in the main pedestrian and the answers no more absurd or speciously argued than you will find in the Talmud or Pascal's Lettres Provinciales.

Really it is the Christian and post-Christian sense of morality, antithetical to legalism, emphasizing personal morality, skeptical of blind obedience and abhorring hypocrisy, that is out of step with everyone else.

To be fair, Bacha Bazi is an older afghanistani practice that the muslim governments tend to outlaw and shut down.

Case in point, the taliban outlaws it and punishes it with the death penalty, the US "allied" afghanis, and their government, basically openly practiced it, with instructions for US soldiers to not argue against or try to stop it.

Now of course this doesn't excuse the pedo streak of Muslims, but this one is at least not on them.
