Horrorcow Zoe Quinn / Chelsea Van Valkenburg / Locke Valentine / @UnburntWitch / @Primeape / CrashOverride / Hat Box / Old Uncle Anime - Con Artist, Abuser, Sexual Harasser, Drove Alec Holowka to Suicide.

Not the post itself, but I expect a slew of 10th anniversary of Gamergate pieces which they maybe rope Zoe into, and blame it for the right-wing riots in the UK
I bet Brianna Wu wants to steal center attention of the GamerGate 10th Anniversary and talk about the GamerGate TV series that Brianna Wu keeps rambling about.

I doubt it. No one gives a shit anymore outside of middle aged faggots in this forum. Everyone involved has either flunked out of the industry or moved on.
The media, such as it is, loves a good churning up of muh nawtzees. So I dunno. I expect SOMETHING.

There are literally people with bylines in "real" newspapers, people like Taylor Lorenz and Ben Collins, who routinely sperg about Gammergrape to this very day.

Yeah if you look for it in the news you can find it but it will never drum up the same outrage or intrigue it did in its heyday. They are just being wistful faggots because gamergate is the only time they were relevant. I never hear anyone talking about it in real life. Dun madder.

At least David Gilbert of Wired.com hadn't completely forgotten.

I have never heard a single person irl say "Gamergate." Not even when it was a "big deal." I mentioned it a couple times to people who literally called themselves "gamers" and were fairly right wing (because an SJW would just go into a blithering shit fit if they had heard of it), and while it was just a couple times to maybe half a dozen people, nobody had heard of it (or they possibly knew to keep their spaghetti in their pockets).

Even at its "biggest" it wasn't that big. Of the relatively few normies who had heard of it, it was probably one story that confused them by some lunatic like Ben Collins. But a lot of those obsessos, who were ranting about it then, continue to do so until this day, while most people who would have associated with it at the time have moved on, often to other shit like Sweet Baby, but you don't hear "Gamergate" from them.

Gamergate was only big news if you were not only a nerd but active within nerd twitter. To normal people outside of that autism circle the extent of GG was maybe reading a headline once in 2014 about evil misogynistic gamers going "eww" then forgetting about it. When people talk about GG now they make it seem far, far larger then it actually was at the time. I remember my dad who is a lifelong nerd but not really a gamer once bringing up sexist gamers and harassment on a walk during the fall of 2014 and that's the only time I've ever heard someone bring up GG offline.

With that being said it did have a massive cultural impact on the internet. GG was what I consider to be the beginning of the modern "culture war" bullshit.

Gaymergate got me into politics as I had a KILLER GAB ACC that was quite popular (2-5k followers) before I got banned for harassing lil turbo.

First time I gave a shit and had fun while harassing journos.
It wasn’t super big but it was wide spread.
A common topic in game lobbies.

The death of Rev3 by Adam showing his nigger colors really was the only real negative ramification that comes to mind

I've know a couple of people who talked about it in real life, but they were all clearly autistic. One was at a wedding I was also at and I shit you not he wore a Vivian James shirt to the wedding. This was around 2015.

I think there are a lot of people such as myself out there who know what it is, but like you said, are self aware enough to keep their spaghetti in their pockets offline.
