I assume that the 100K turning into 99K put some of the fear of God into him. If 100 left, a lot more became dispassionate/hatewatchers and a lot more will choose not to fund the next books.
A while ago, my advice to him would be to start reviewing manga and anime. There is enough good stuff and enough slop to make views. Now, I do not want his Supernova hot takes anywhere near the stuff I like.

Zack probably didn't get what he wanted out of that arrangement. I'm guessing he was hoping for a big bump in sales or views to his channel and when it didn't happen he got mad.
Yes, that's what happened, but why was this the route he chose in response to this? If all he wanted was views, he could just have emulated the "Birthday Party Clowns" and mocked some terrible streaming shows on his channel. I think he has some kind of grudge. Let's just say if he invites Drinker down to a Texas basement to sample some Amontillado after a long night of drinking together, Drinker should politely decline.
Alternatively, he could do videogames, but I think he only has a very narrow interest there and it would require him to rebuild his audience. He's not going to be beating Civvie11 any time soon even if he starts today. If Zack had taken your advice he'd have found the slop and said, "This is a good manga. Solid." Or he could review some good manga and say, "It fucking suuuckkkss!" in his special retard voice. That would be amusing, but I don't think it would rebuild his audience.

Most people won't bother unsubbing to anything they don't have to even if they stopped caring about that channel in particular. It's why you can see a channel with several hundred thousand or even a million subscribers barely scraping by with views. All dead subs. It's less of a hassle to just ignore it instead of actively looking for the unsubscribe button. You really gotta annoy people to make them actually go through the effort of unsubscribing. Actively antagonizing will do it.
I was subscribed to him until recently. Meyer got pretty boring for a while and my assumption is that a lot of these guys like myself were content to just let the guy sit in the back of the sub bus and let him quietly do his own thing. What I couldn't ignore was his screeching for weeks about people not deepthroating Hollywood and how they're assholes for not doing it. I don't even watch these guys except the very rare Critical Drinker video and even that was just Tomb Raider vods, but I got sick of him filling my feed bitching about these guys he doesn't have to watch while pretending he wasn't doing the same thing with a comic slant. Yes Zack, making a million videos about Snow White or the latest Star Wars series is kinda stupid, but you're not better making a million videos or community posts bitching about what some idiot said on twitter or there being too many lesbians in comics. Yes, he actually did.
His reviews of the show were mostly positive up until the end, which made me actually wonder if Disney cut him a check.
He gives good reviews to movies and shows that are bad (and woke) sometimes (the main one I can think of is called Prey, I think? The one where the Indian princess kills a Predator. I vaguely remember some others, but I can't name them off hand). I can't take him seriously as a critic. His gimmick works well enough for him to get views, though.
(I still think Zack is kind of a scumbag for turning on him when he helped him have a successful kickstarted though. I wonder what happened there, behinds the scenes.)

Critical Drinker's shtick is an alcoholic with an accent and like most in that anti-sjw realm complains about the smallest things. His reviews are repetitive and formulistic, end up fairly dated given the modern culture war slant to them. I do remember liking his Game of Thrones videos, but that's along time ago.

The Drinker might truly not know what is going on. From his perspective, Zack was a friendly collaborator one day and the next he is told he turned on him.
As I have said before, Zack is not very Youtube friendly. He does not do what the rest of the right wingers are doing to grow and then gets mad that what he did not do did not work for him. Like go into the Drinker 's podcast leading up to the releash of the product, advertise your product, shoot the breeze with the guys, make a good impression etc.
Exactly why I do not want him around them anymore. He is not the kind of guy who would give something new a fair chance. He would complain about every perceived flaw while acting like his beloved comics are the bees' knees (remember how he praises the '90s grimdark era as a whole?). His tendency to change his opinion for no good reason while also being very specific about what he likes makes listening to him a gamble as you cannot praise an opinion without remembering that he has just as many retarded takes.

You can criticise him about who he sides with while at the same time be sad at what happened to him.
