nick claiming a recording of his stream is not the original video and proceeding to delete the original video is so pathetic. it shouldn't matter regardless since the archive of the stream appears unedited but even then the argument "recordings of streams" shouldn't be allowed to stand. it's claiming a picture of you committing the crime in a mirror shouldn't count since it's an edited version of what happened. "look i'm stabbing with my left hand instead in the image when i would never use my left hand for stabbing."

It's more retarded than that. He's saying the cop told the court he watched the original when in fact he knew he was watching a copy. Nick isn't even alleging it was different, only that the cop lied.

The cop doesn't have to prove he watched the original or even that his copy was exact. For probable cause and the warrant, he only needs to reasonably believe it depicted the acts that led to his application for a warrant. If they use it at trial, they may want the original but it's a trial issue.

Of course the cop didn't say that he watched the original in his warrant application and accurately described what he did watch and saw. Warrant is solid.
