He's using Game Maker, its a prettty simple engine that's only really directed at your pixel art 2D games that don't utilize much modern tech.
Meanwhile, Unreal Engine is a engine that prides itself on being at the cutting edge of 3D technology which means you need to worry about 3 dimensional spaces with real time lighting and modeling as well as textures and rough maps and then script the game etc. etc.
It has a lot more components and tools to make games and is also harder due to what it is used and made for.

I checked a few of his recent "GAME DEV Q/A" VODs on Twitch and all he seems to do is edit config files (not actual code) for his "BlockGame" (archive) Minecraft server, and he didn't even make the plugins it uses in the first place, they're called MMOCore and MMOItems. He never seems to work on his own game, he just does that (when he's not just playing games).

So I never really watched his videos, I seen few clips like the SkyNut thing and him talking some convention and kids no knowing what a controller is. I only really started digging more after he started getting fucking slapped over his stupid ass opinion about SKG. If his idea of development is just fucking editing config files then he has failed. I can edit config files. Fuck go talk to most of the people in the internet section and most of them know how to edit a config file to some degree.

Why do people keep giving money to these grifters? I really can't understand it. He's not no elite game dev. He's just a nepo-baby furry who who was addicted to eve online and just plays video games on stream or talks about shit. Every clip I've seen on him is just him talking about shit and maybe pulling up something on a web browser. Part of me really kinda hopes that rivals 2 doesn't do so well because I'd be willing to bet that he would the "SKG fanboys" as the reason the game didn't do so well.

Honestly, I don’t really see much wrong with his opinion on us. He seems more bemused by the fact that FA and KF I’ve technically joined forces against the hacker.

The only part I disagree with is that we harass people. If you visit to the Kiwi Farms and look at your thread I can understand thinking that we harass you, but calling us harassers makes us sound like we leave site to go harass people offsite, which just isn’t true.

From the clips it sounded like that game only persists levels or abilities or something, e.g. you have "Completed level 4" and that unlocks level 5, but you can probably still play level 4.
