The subforum has recently seen an influx of new posters that simply haven't had extensive exposure to his antics and are quick to jump to Phil's defense, to them he's a simple schmuk that tries to play video games for a living but those damn detractors keep calling him mean words and that simply isn't cool!
People aren't upset because he's able to make money streaming, it's how he's constantly crying poor and guilt-tripping his audience into giving him money, while at the same time frivolously spending every cent he gets donated on luxury items, gacha games and doordashing breakfast, lunch and dinner every single day of the week, but remember, he really needs your help and every single dollar counts!

What do you call a streamer saying they need money to fix [insert broken thing he told stream about here] and then never using that money to do it?
For example he's used his broken shower and broken dishwasher to distress-beg and to this date those things never got fixed. Now consider that he's spent like a decade doing things like that. He also spent that decade begging for money to "pay my bills" or "pay my taxes" all the while he was maxing out credit cards, falling behind on taxes anyway, and making his fans believe they were helping him out of tough spots.
To me, fundamentally this is no different to what Keffals did with the $100k "Legal Fund" that never went to its stated purpose. The doners themselves don't care that they got scammed, but that doesn't make Keffals any less of a scammer, no?

As someone who used to frequent the DSP sphere and lost interest because he's just so boring now, a lot of it really does come down to miserable, awful people looking for an easy excuse to go after someone
I won't say it's jealously or envy entirely but from where I was i've seen my fair share of people legit disgusted and seething at him over the no no words he's said in the past and things he's done, and while I won't say that applies to majority of the users here, there is certainly a large chunk of people who are miserable shitheads themselves and see DSP as this great big evil that must be stopped at all costs and it's okay to do this or that to him or if this or that does happen to him
