It makes it all the more jarring when they go "trying to make them a better person" and wanting people to apologize so they can be better. might be a little MATI but these cunts know for a fact they want you to grovel because they are miserable and get off on seeing other people beneath them being more miserable. It isn't about helping people change it is never about that because look at people like Alex and how he changed the MC. If they can bully you as a creator into changing things to be more "acceptable" aka changing things so they can get it off from everyone else enjoying it all the while crying about gatekeeping then they will do it. This is the same crowd that will code things like characters and franchises bascially trying to claim it's theirs then play woe is me when you call them out.

This is the one thing i give the UrbanSpook creator and is why i always give props to people that tell these clowns to fuck off. Nowadays i don't know why people are so afraid of these twitter jannies who can only have any amount of power behind phones or computer screens but whole companies will bend over backwards so far to appease them and get nothing in return.

this obsession with everything needing and being a community is part of the problem. I remember when creepypasta was a thing it wasn't really a community peolpe just wrote creepypastas then you had people show up and get egos out of how popular their stories were not to mention channels that read creepypastas were being attacked because the no-name writers of these stories thought they were "owed" a piece of that action. Anytime a community forms around a thing it will either prosper for a long time (rarely) or prosper and be hijacked by peolpe who will curate the shit out of it and make it boring and sterile.

It really is.

His shit isn't scary. I don't care how many people in this thread try to hype up this guy, or his work. His story has an interesting premise, but it falls flat because it uses over-the-top edgy gore ripped straight from those bad Jeff the Killer fanfics from the early 2010s as a replacement for actual substance, and criticizing it for that isn't "gatekeeping".

Yeah, his harassers are dumb, and he handles them better than most people would, but christ, people need to stop pretending like the stuff he writes is actually good, and isn't just shock-value slop.

There seems to be a trend of these idiots being too lazy to fact check their videos and leaving in obviously erroneous shit, it's even worse considering the average viewers consumes and later regurgitates this wrong info.
It's so depressing seeing how retarded things have become.

I still vividly remember Matpat back in 2013 or so showing how the Companion Cube in Portal makes a completely different sound when it gets fizzled that sounds like a dying scream, only for me to see it happen in game and for no distinctive sounds to play. Then one day I decided to fizzle the radio which resulted in that scream like sound playing.

This isn't new, these people have been literal bullshit merchants for years.

That's the thing. He's like every other Analog Horror youtuber when it comes to style over substance. Difference is he dwelled into the "TOO FAR!!!" route and THAT was when everyone really started critiquing the cliches of Analog Horror despite 95% of Analog Horror is exactly is like this. Just relying purely on this or that to make the video seem like it's the best horror competing against Hollywood or something (and we all know how Hollywood treats horror).

UrbanSPOOK just did what most other youtubers have done but with an added dosage of shock value. It took UrbanSPOOK for people to actively talk about the cliches/tropes of Analog Horror more. It's only slop to them when it's something that most can agree on for these people. Anything else is a "subversive masterpiece" or whatever buzzword video essayists like to say. As long as it got digital filters, spooky monsters, that one pictograph man, liquid faces, the incredibly inaccurate EAS alarm system, the random jumpscare, and that it wasn't made by UrbanSPOOK, of course.

Almost no one in this thread is hyping him up or saying he is good, they just don’t like the gatekeeping and harassment of him, your being retarded. I don’t know why your pretending this thread has said it’s anything but edgy slop. The gatekeeping aspect isn’t people saying “oh it’s edgy slop” it’s from people going “OMG Too far man too far” and being very arbitrary about what is a allowed in horror and what isn’t.

It's a common thing where peolpe don't wanna realize what is in front of them so when something like UrbanSpook comes out you see the hypocrisy with people. they are willing to call out the edginess, gratuitous violence, nonsense jumpscares and scatterbrain "lore" because Urban was their outlet to do so. Alex tugged his collar and redid Mandela pretending it was a creator choice when in reality he was getting exposed because reap what you sow when you pander to a community that is known for mobbing against you at a drop of the hat and the fact that MC is seen as one of the best examples of why current AH is so sterile and bland.

Whether people want it or not and not even indicative of sit quality but UrbanSpook again was one of the things that made people realize how awful their community and the content of the community has become. The fun part and i will keep saying this but as a concept UrbanSpook is original compared to some of the other AHs since the other ones either use layers of dissonance to distract you (they have kids being killed but it's so buried in nonsense people don't register or care about it) and presents itself and the crimes straightforward without easing the trigger warning community into it like most AH that beat around the bush too much only to deliver a weak conclusion.

could it be some weirdo's fetish?...absolutely possible in fact i am leaning into that and the use of A.I doesn't vex me but if it is used under generating CP i can see that being a problem
on the other hand this community is known for making mountains out of molehills and some weirdo getting blown up like this could just lead to a goose chase that is just them being a general weirdo acting out their fetish for the social media timelines (these are a dime a dozen nowadays). Some of the images are off putting but at this point i am numb to most of it and at best a few are extremely uncanny but the oversized lips make them looks silly,
