This actually came up during Rittenhouse as well I believe, where the defense brought up something about social media, and the prosecution brought up the social media post where Rittenhouse had said something about how looters should be shot. It ended up being a big fight in that case I believe, where they sent the jury out and argued in front of the judge for half an hour or so about whether they could bring that up due to the defense 'opening the door' to that.
