You don't think he's been jumping up and down doing everything he can to testify? He would LOVE to testify. The only thing that would prevent him from doing that is he'd be one of the most unreliable witnesses ever because he doesn't know how to shut the fuck up and there's hundreds of hours of footage that can be used to discredit him.

I wonder what exculpatory evidence has been disclosed.

While they clearly want an order restraining Aaron from "harassing" Kayla by talking publicly about the polycule, what happens if they're unable to prove he shared the photo with the intention of harassing Kayla?

According to the warrant, the troubling thing was just how often he was talking badly about her - which is fair.

If they're unable to prove the intent of harassing Kayla, then it's a gross midemeanor rather than a felony. They've charged him with both and I guess they'll figure out which one they can get to stick.

Aaron has been getting shit talked by Nick just as often. The quest for oneupmanship has been absurd on both sides.

I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea that you can be restrained from publicly telling the truth about an ex, though.

This could backfire for Nick. He can seek to have Aaron's evidence excluded from his own trial but he can't seek to have it excluded from Aaron's trial.

It was beyond stupid of Aaron to share the photo with someone friendly with April, though.

Maybe you just don't watch Aaron all that often, but it's absolutely not the same on both sides. Nick has been quite vague about Aaron. Aaron went on multiple shows and talked about every detail he possibly could about his, April, Nick, and Kayla's sex life. He's been speculating wildly all while talking about how he is the only one with intimate knowledge about what's going on there.

It has been relentless from Aaron. The only thing Aaron needed to do was say "this is an active case and I may never be able to talk about it - even though I'd like to" and then shut the fuck up forever. He is incapable of doing that.

Also, Aaron is the only first-hand source for the swinging stuff about Nick. We would not know about the existence of the Qover or that they all slept in the same bed or swung with each other. Without Aaron saying it, it was just insanely wild speculation and the Rekietas would have looked like they were just helping out their friend April. It's all Aaron, and he's been trying to squeeze out every bit of detail and emotion he can from this saga so he can keep hitting that goal. He has literally run out of stories.

I'm sure Nick is petty and wants to get Aaron back, but he's been publicly very vague about Aaron. "I hope he gets a million dollars" and that sort of thing. He's going to absolutely reem him with defamation lawsuits if he manages to avoid prison.

Plotwise - it's the most interesting outcome if Nick gets away with everything and then starts a legal battle with Aaron. But, I'm here for whatever turn happens. Everyone sucks here, and there are no heroes. Enjoy the fireworks.

The problem is if Aaron's been truthful, and hasn't been sending messages to the qover since before the arrest, how is it harassing? He hasn't talked to April at all except through lawyers. If what he has said on his show is the truth, can that be harassment? I'm sure it's embarrassing, but that's not illegal, nor by any means a form of harassment.

This is a common trick the cops tell just to make their job easier. It also signals to the court you know you are guilty. The best route is to barracade yourself in a gas station while loudly telling the police you don't want to hurt anyone.

Aaron, make the funny legally savvy move.

The probable cause statement seems to think his comments on his show are harassing:

The problem is that "concerning" is a weasel word which means nothing.

What are the "concerning" comments that are deemed harassing?

I'm not even saying that no such "concerning" comments exist, since I don't watch Steel Toe Morning Show, but I'm sorry, I don't really buy that commenting on an ongoing criminal case that has intense public interest, including international press coverage from major outlets like the Daily Mail, is anything akin to "harassment". The only thing I can think of which could be considered akin to harassment is this thing with the photo which has been alleged.
