I don't want to piss on someone's bonfire but I think Mald's voice really did get deeper. I see folks here say he's taking "big breaths" but honestly it's such BS. His breath is normal considering the circumstances and he speaks long sentences without hiccups. It's such a nitpick tbh.

The three points of reference for Jason's voice are the clip from the old interview and this one short he made where he made the "second puberty" claim, the Streamer Awards clips where he wasn't in control of the audio stack and everything he does in front of his computer.

His voice definitely changed, though it's debatable if it's a permanent change or if he's doing the Elizabeth Holmes chest voice, and he only uses a bass boost while streaming from home, when he's not in charge of the EQ he doesn't have the wall trembling voice he wants people to believe he has. So it's not a voice changer.

Also, this is the short through which I became aware of his existence. Not through the YT algo though, someone reposted it somewhere else.

He uploaded it on May 30th 2022 and it reached 7.6 million views.
Guess what 1.7 million view short he posted on October 1st 2023.

Yeah, he recycled the story with a similar title.

One might wonder what an auditor would uncover, given how much he has lied about other things. He says that he worked as a 'hacker' for the U.S. government, but doesn’t that usually require security clearances? Where you have to sign NDAs, and breaching them could potentially lead to jail time?

Yes, Department of Energy has their own, it's called Q Clearance, and unique to them; so if someone ever says they have that, if they're not lying, they've at least had access in some regard to nuclear secrets or things associated with them. Now there isn't anything wrong with discussing things you do or did to a point; we hacked/pen-tested/sexually assaulted nuclear reactors, and that's about as far as you'd go. You don't discuss team size, makeup, tools, tactics, or anything else; you groped a nuclear reactor and wrote a report about what you did and where to strengthen defenses. As for jail time, I don't think anyone's ever been jailed for running their mouth; removed from their position and stripped of everything, sure, but jail/executions only happened when there was hard evidence you're selling what you know to a foreign power.

"Second puberty" is some new-age health term women tell each other when the egg carton starts getting empty; there is no second puberty in medicine. "Second puberty" is a euphemism for "menopausal transition."

He could have taken voice coaching lessons, but considering what a lazy person Mald is, he would definitely prefer a solution that requires less work.

I'm torn on this issue, I find the "he fakes his Batman voice" angle to be the weakest argument on this thread. But I'll at least concede that there's some small room for reasonable doubt, considering its so rare to see him when he doesn't have full control of his audio.

I do think that his "second puberty" explanation is probably BS, as I can't imagine a real doctor throwing that fake term around. He's probably covering for something embarrassing like hormone therapy, testosterone or some other kind of drug or disease.

My point is, Mald will always lie, embellish or steal (half of his stories are probably stolen from someone else) . You just need to figure out from what angle he's doing it.

Many Kiwis, who probably know more about audio than I do, have stated that it’s obvious Mald changes his audio to make his voice sound deeper on stream. Another piece of evidence is that Mald is not out of breath when talking nonstop on stream.

He boosts his bass to make himself sound extra deep. Its obnoxious and over the top.

Why does everyone who I peripherally know of and think to be decent enough turn out to be gay beyond measure

Suits have to be tailored for a proper fit. He bought something that fitted, and despite having the money to afford a tailor, decided not to get it done.

He's not using garters either. You see how there's an extra piece of cloth between what's obviously his jacket and pants. Pretty sure that's his dress shirt that's tucked in, but not held tight; so now it bunched up and is unkempt. Or it's short for his torso and the back isn't even tucked in anymore. Can't exactly tell, but I go to church with 14 year olds who can dress themselves better than this.

He definitely boost his bass, but I do have to bring something up, that a lot of streamers "use" (even if not aware): The Proximity Effect.

I don't doubt he boost his voices bass, but a thing I see in the speech and that interview, is how far the mic is away from him. Compare it to his streams, where he basically has it right in front of his mouth.
I also want to mention that he seems to be using a Blue Yeti. I heard from quite a few people that they like it over other mics, because it "sounds fuller". This is because it's a microphone that is more on the bassy side (like a good chunk of broadcast mics), rather than being neutral.

In short he 100% fakes his voice, but in my opinion not to the extend some of you seem to believe.

Popped up on my feed again today, but I saw something interesting next to him. Another dev live streaming.


I went into the other dev's channel just to see if their streams were at all like Jason's, they only had 3 people watching them.
It was about 4 hours of this with the occasionally talking to chat about what they're doing and a notepad on the side showing bugs they're fixing and things they're working on.
Screenshot of some code they pulled up. I don't know much but their shit looked a whole lot cleaner from what I scrubbed through.
There were zero breaks to look at tweets, The only time I saw them tab out of the code was to open up some kind of code change comparison tool that highlighted shit in red n green.

Bravo Jason, that guardian druid is going to certainly be the key to completing the next chapter of Heartbound.
I can understand from a streaming perspective, that 1,200 people aren't going to want to watch you code all day. I didn't want to watch this guy for four hours I was just curious so I scrubbed his video.

But don't pass yourself as a fucking dev, you're not.

Mind you, I don't watch much gaming content or developer stuff (just AI updates) and nothing about indie gaming, hacking, furry, or Blizzard stuff, and Jason suddenly popped up and was all over my recommendations.
