They've been making somewhat subtle moves, but when covid hit and the American masses had to sit inside with little to do, they went balls deep with the plan, can't let them sit around thinking too much, after all, with Flash being shutdown around this time, clearing out a humongous portion of internet culture for "security", the near abandonment of cable for websites and streaming services that replicate all the worst parts of cable, and phasing out of physical media until things like DVDs start to border on the brink of antiquity. Putting a cellphone in pretty much everyone's pocket also helped with this, with devices that are always connected to the internet, listening in on your conversations to hand select the best ad for you, I'm sure everyone's had a conversation about a specific product, and just "conveniently" saw the same product advertised to them specifically the next time they opened Youtube or something.

I think that most conspiracies will end up becoming true, not because they were true when they were first believed but because naturally something happens that fits into the shape of the conspiracy. More importantly, I think conspiracies are encouraged by governments to confuse people and exercise control.

The best thing any government could do for their own power is to never confirm or deny things and let us stew in the ideas that we come up with based on shreds of information that seep out. It also gives any government power when you think of some strong conspiracy that makes it seems like everything they did was coordinated, well who wants to go against such an entity.

I think politics in general over the past few years has really shown me that governments are just full of flawed people, trying to make it out to be that there is some level of control and that we aren't in some complete chaos state. Covid is believed to be some mass culling and genius operation by some governments but in reality just went to show how inept and barely in control the biggest governments in the world are. Politics in general just shows us that all these people aren't some savy people who can run a shadow government but are almost making it up as they go like any normal person would.

It's not that conspiracies aren't real, it's just that it tends to benefit the governments who use it to scare you more about what could be going on when it's a bunch of regular people with power doing stupid shit barely keeping an entire system together.

Underground cities sound really cool right up until you realize how bleak that existence would be and how long-term it just isn't sustainable. The deeper underground you are, the stronger your materials need to be, and no matter what, overtime the structure is going to degrade. Where are you going to get power and more food/water? How will you repel a possible intrusion from someone outside your underground city? If you're post-apocalypse, any maintenance is going to be sparse and prioritized for only the most crucial of repairs...and that's assuming you won't run into a competency crisis.

I guarantee you the powers that be aren't actually going to like living in a bunker, no matter how cushy they try to make it seem.

We know the FBI and others encourage people to do crimes and terrible things to justify their existence. Wouldn't be too hard to push these people in the direction of Trump. The Crooks one seems like such an obvious set up. Create an opportunity for someone to get into a position with no escape. The new guy is similar.
