That's such a shame. From growing up with Harry Potter, to watching Downton and Lady in the Van, she's been a phenomenal presence in my life.

Now I'm just pissed. I mean I know there's nothing that can be done but I'm still pissed.
I just watched The secret garden yesterday and now I'm going to be obligated to watch downtown Abbey just to relieve some of this rage I feel. Grrrr.

She was great in the Sister Act movies, and looked positively ancient back then, and that was 30+ years ago. Granted, she was made up to look older, but she was even younger in Hook a few years earlier, and she's always seemed "old" my entire life.
Which when you have people like her, Queen Elizabeth, Dick Van Dyke, Betty White, etc, who have been "old" for decades, it's hard to keep in mind that people like that were once young. Dame Maggie Smith was a stone cold fox back in the day. RIP.
