Silent Hill

the game never explains what the red liquid is or what it does but it's somehow tied to the good ending. makes me believe that they wanted people to replay it 2 times to make it less short.

Old games were just like that. I think you're supposed to infer it by when Kaufmann appears if you rescue him and he throws it at Alessa, and then you're supposed to go "well maybe I'll try it on poor Cybil."

completed SH4 I quite liked it, didn't mind the second half with the escort stuff because I was using 1 hit kills and save states :story:

I think the series is okay, just feel sometimes the plots are a bit vague and nonsensical and the characters speak to one another like they have autism at times.

gonna look up a video on the silent hill circumcision theory that sounds funny.

This scene is actually laughably bad, what were they thinking?

You don't get it chud. This is the original developer's vision. It's like David Lynch and the psychology horror, where everything is cringe worthy and awkward.

Now sit down and drink your soylent while you enjoy this genre defining, spine tingling, slow burning psychological horror auteur work of art on your new Playstation 5 pro.

Toss me all the MATI hats but the new soundtrack fucking sucks. Has none of the same impact. Imagine adding funk to Heaven's Night, guess it fits the new look. Betrayal sucks worse. What a way to ruin the OST, apparently its thanks to Blooper telling Akira Yamaoka to change shit or something instead of just letting him cook up new things. This new ost has more dogshit auditory generic vidya and Trent Reznor clutter than quality tracks that the original had. Anyone who defends it is immediately retarded and coping, I'll leave my scolding take. Even the Western SH tracks Akira did sounded better. Is this how it feels to have one of your favorite soundtracks ever just straight up raped and chopped to pieces? Reminds me of when LISA defective edition soundtrack had to butcher itself for nonsensical copyright reasons. The erasure of Triphop influence like Portishead is felt, now there's just noise, and its not even interesting noise its so toned down and generic. YOU TOOK ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE HORROR OSTS AND MADE IT SOUND LIKE ANY OTHER HORROR GAME AND GENERIC VIDYA SOUNDTRACK. THIS was like, the last sort of hope I was banking on and I remembered nothing in this franchise will ever be good again. I'm so MATI, seething with hatred that can pierce a thousand stars. They say hope is the final death. From here on out, I will never have optimism regarding this series again. You don't fuck up one of the best game soundtracks ever and get any pity or praise from me. Fuck Akira Yamaoka for softening up too. Please never remake another Silent Hill ever again thx. Could you imagine how brutally messed up remakes of SH1 or SH3, 4 ost would sound?
It is unironically this. I swear to God these track names are ai generated. Also holy fuck True was massacred :(
Honestly I don't feel an ounce of sorrow anymore for newcomers retarded enough to make this their first experience with such a magical sequel. I'll almost say you deserve what you pay for, 70 bucks, a ps5, or a pc. If you have a PC you have no excuse. If you have a Ps5 you should switch to PC if you even want to explore some of gaming's finest catalogues.

Jesus christ, there's next to no communication via body language, the delivery is just flat as fuck. It's like Maria's actress was just reading the line off the paper. There's no more sultry turn, posing, and smiling from Maria. And no surprise and realisation in James' tone.

Silent Hill 1's acting is a masterpiece compared to this. What happened here?
Paycheck modern, soulless voice acting and a lack of sticking to the great original cinematography. Different for the sake of being different, even having retarded FF7 demake tier "original timeline" shenanigans in inappropriate, inconsistent spots in the map as you progress. They put a weird cutscene alluding to the original first lying figure encounter before you reach the town, same layout and all. Its all staticy and retarded and closed off now. NO ONE NEW WOULD REALIZE WHAT THIS IS, SO WHY IS IT HERE? To flip the original fans off or do a reddit tier callback for the gold and platinums. This remake is the opposite of faithful and I feel like because they essentially alluded this is a sequel or alternate take like ff7 demake (sequels), more people will defend it as a separate game rather than what it was marketed as. The marketing was a huge lie, and I suspected it going in. Video game remakes should die.

I found the full scene. Yeah... it's wank.

We have cutting edge mocap tech, let's squander the shit out of it.
The lack of body movement really bothers me. From all the scenes I have seen, James across Angela at the graveyard, just standing there like a plank speaking the lines he was given. This scene with Maria. It's all just so lifeless, they may as well be T-posing.

Sorry in advance. Does anyone have a convenient list of changes, preferably pictures of said changes?

Asking because a friend who is a Silent Hill fan is hyped for the remake, and hasn't seen anything about changes for a modern audience. My google-fu let me down.

This newer soundtrack really is a shallow imitation of a more atmospheric original. There was very little to expect when remastering the sound and feel of the game but it does not have that same charm. It would've been a little better to cost cut and reuse the original music as only a few of these new tracks sound alright.

It's really amusing that people actually are hyped to play this. If having very little to no emotion in the acting department is what passes as a "good" remake, I'm convinced that too many gamers and game developers stay indoors for too long and because of that, they don't know the intricacies of making it convincing.
