[Pinches nose] Can't believe we're still doing this, but okay. For reasons simply beyond my understanding, literary agent, Leslie Varney, is again using her Twitter platform to harass, defame, and gaslight on behalf of her friends in the cult stalking and SWATTing my family. As most of you know, over the last few years, my family has been the all consuming obsession of a criminal cyberstalking cult. Our home has been SWATTed 53 times and counting, with the most recent incident happening just last week. Unless you're Leslie Varney. If you're Ms. Vareny, then you see someone SWATTed dozens of times, whose story has been covered in national media, and think to yourself "I bet he's lying for attention." You then set out and befriend obvious stalker accounts on Twitter and believe everything they say.
In the above tweet, Leslie doubles down on her delusion, again accusing us of making up the ordeal her terrorist friends force us to endure, stating falsely the media simply "took our word" for the story without independent confirmation. Just one problem: They didn't. This segment from NBC Nightly News, filmed last year when the number of SWATTings was "only" in the 40s. As you can see halfway through the segment, NBC fact-checked directly with the MPD, who confirmed the number and the nature of the attacks on us. The number has since grown, but NBC was not the only media outlet to independently confirm our story. Journalists from Inside Edition, The Independent, and The Daily Beast also confirmed with MPD. The fact of our stalking/SWATTing ordeal is not in dispute or up for debate.
Leslie was shown this video when it aired last year. She knows MPD has confirmed our story. She is simply, nakedly lying, in service of literal domestic terrorists. Which brings us to the 2nd screenshot. This image was taken from a site called "Kiwi Farms." Kiwi Farms is as bad as the internet gets. It has stalked, harassed, hounded, and threatened four people to suicide THAT WE KNOW OF. The fact Ms. Varney uses it as "proof" of anything to further her conspiracy speaks volumes about her character.
But just for the sake of thoroughness, let's look at her "proof." She claims it shows MPD has only one record of a SWATTing call against our home (as she helps the stalkers to dox us, again). One issue. The report comes from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Dept. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and the City of Milwaukee Police Dept are different entities entirely. To the very best of our knowledge, the MKE Sheriff's Dept has never responded to any of the 53 SWATTing calls against our home, as they weren't the agency contacted. The Sheriff's Dept has no reason to have MPD service calls or incident reports. A fact that should have been obvious to Ms. Varney, if only she retained the capacity for rational thought independent of her need for confirmation bias of her prejudices. Alas, she doesn't.
Ms. Varney is a willing ally of domestic terrorists. She has chosen, of her own volition, to support them, platform them, validate them, joined in their cause of trying to ruin my career and reputation, repeatedly defamed me, and now she's helped them doxx our home again. Leslie Varney has absolutely no business representing authors as a lit agent. Her judgment and associations have proven her to be a danger to my family, other authors, her clients, convention guests and attendees, and the larger writing community. It's time for her to go.
