I don't know why people keep saying he's a narcissist. I thought for a long time that's only people who don't watch him. He has way to many traits and behaviors that are incompatible with narcissism. I don't know exactly what he expects this video to look like but his post saying he wants a "Lemmino style thing" suggests he wants it to be fairly long and detailed, potentially with custom graphics and animations. A single person will not be able to get all that done in two weeks, no matter how hard they crunch. A team of three or four might, but then you're talking about a production company that tries to stay busy throughout the year. There's no guarantee he'll find a company that has an opening right now where they could fit him in.

A couple months ago I made a pithy comment saying if Destiny was truly worried about Trump's threat to democracy, he'd buy himself some weapons in the non-zero chance that the election aftermath turns into civil conflict and that people would have to put their lives on the line to protect American democracy as it stands. You're definitely right that he thought he could do it better, but I think my point still stands. If he wanted it done well and on time, he was going to need to shell out money at some point. He could have done it early in the process (research and script), or to eliminate distractions so he could focus more (his podcast audio). In the end he paid for it in a roundabout way because he took several stream days off to finish the script, and he might not get a finished product in time for it to matter.
