Yep, Gene Goldstein is the same guy who made that pilot years ago, currently he's running an Indie Animation studio called Jellybox Studios, who are responsible for all those #StandWithAnimation PSAs.

He also founded his own band apparently called Qbomb with some other Industry members like Jake Strick, Ari Castleton, Jordan Rosato and Sam Gamma.

I've been busy with other stuff as of late, but I really do want to get this out there eventually. I've been going through dozens of old Tumblr posts to piece together a picture of what it was like when SU first aired, when the first Steven Bomb happened, as well as its effects on both western animation and western pop culture.

The question is: Should I post it in here, or in a dedicated SU thread?

The general idea is basically to change the opinions of general audiences by making them treat animation with more value and respect for better bargaining chips.

I wonder if they got insanely salty by The Autistic Digital Circus being the the 4th most viewed TV SHOW on Netflix US and 3rd most viewed globally under a weekend. (Reminder that all the episodes are already free on YouTube)

If you agree with "just go indie" sentiment or not, those numbers sure don't lie. And streaming services sure won't ignore it.

Nobody would complain if you posted on both, they probably would appreciate it as a matter of fact.

... But if you don't want to do that though, then I find this thread more fitting anyway, as that essay would be more about on how the Internet/Cartoon Industry reacted the Steven Universe phenomenon rather than what did Steven Universe exactly do to cause this influence.

It's no secret Rebecca Sugar was only famous online for drawing Ed Edd Eddy gay porn before the Steven Universe pilot got picked up. She probably knew who was a fan of her porn of underage characters. More I learn about her and the cartoon industry. I wouldn't be surprised if we later found out Rebecca Sugar blackmailed her way up on Cartoon Network by using her knowledge of staff and higher ups that are into cartoon porn of underage characters. From the stories I heard John J probably did the same thing during the 90s.

I've said about shows like the boys that mediocre writers need to take pre existing IPs to get attention to their garbage shows they make with their buddies, that if it was a completely original concept it wouldn't make it past a single season, if that. But because its something that people wanted to see adapted they put up with shit writing to see their favorite characters move on tv. Mindy should've picked something other than Scooby Doo if she wanted to keep it going.
