I think he's slightly reaching with it, I think the devs just had a different (or incorrect) interpretation of his character considering they made James more sympathetic as he pointed out later in the review and the other White characters don't appear to be demonised,

With how common shitting on white people is, at this point you need proof to show that it was not the intention. It's one thing to call the devs incompetent, but they actually hired far-left political activists to meddle with the development. Would you trust an actively anti-white group NOT to butcher a white character out of spite? I wouldn't.

They couldn't touch James without pissing out everyone. But Eddie? He's just a side character, who cares if there's some minor change to him? And that's how they do it, little by little. Just enough to not get serious pushback while the consoomers defend it all.

(might be a little MATI) After watching the SH2 Remake review my biggest gripe is that no matter who they get to make these fucking games they look exactly the same. I wish we can slowly retire this "realistic" approach to design with games it makes them blend together and in short i bet this is why most of them don't sell as well when they look like everything else on the market. Not to mention it's the most westernized and watered down Silent Hill game and it is supposed to be a remake of an old classic but of course it needs to be sanitized for the phantom "modern audience"

It's a reach.
All characters in SH2 are white, of which 3 out of 4 are blonde.

Nah, they butchered every character in a way, and Eddie's dichotomy was the small thread between paranoid and sympathetic until it collapsed to one side.
The original knew how to navigate the balance, but the remake only knows one tempo at a time. So they show Eddie either absolute crazy or embarrassingly infantile.

It's, in my opinion; the only blemish on an otherwise excellent review.

i disagree with that part. just looking at it, blooba (what kinda name is bloober) just made a 4k/ UHD rendition of eddie dombrowski. fat, pathetic, and he just happens to be caucasian, like in the OG.

if eddie were (hypothetical) brown or black or yellow, etc. + fat and pathetic, what critique towards the character changes? race-swapped, sure. but the point remains: eddie's fat and pathetic. plus crazy.

Especially Electric Underground, he do gave a quick mention of the politic but don't actually address them (he has right to not talk about them, but it does make so that he is not as brave/base as synth).

Other than that, the actually analysis part synth is not inferior to them. Synth presented the gameplay and story theme pretty adequately. I am not exactly expecting a highly educated Shakespearian level of analysis, I am just here to hear opinions that's intelligent and cohesive.

Agreed, as long as a game isn't too sweaty for him (he is pretty shit at video games), his story and gameplay critic on average is better than most give him credit for.

To be fair to him, a lot of time he is playing a game for the first time on stream. So he is learning the mechanic of that game. Plus he has to engage with chats once a while so he isn't 100% focus on the game. Every time I play a new game I had to adapt and slowly gets good over time.

I also thought that, I get that he's blonde and blue eyed but the fact he is a fat loser completely overshadows that and makes him a very poor representation of the typical aryan ubermensch that these people would like to shit on. They definitely do that, but I think better examples are homelander or that one candidate guy for a new captain america in one of the new marvelslop shows (that I only know of from that one video about accidentaly symapthetic villains in modern media). I think synth is really overinterpreting it in this case.

Unpopular opinion, but the issue with modern gaming is that it fucking sucks. DEI is the most noticeable bad parts of new games but it isn't like replacing those with sane character design and dialogue writing will make the games magically better.

The issue with modern games is that they are degenerate (not in the usual term). Genre conventions are set in stone and every game feels the same template of "open-ish world third person exploration action RPG". Which is pretty amazing when you consider those games take 5 years to make and play exactly the same.

Most games are simply not fun. I can play one of the big new AAA games for maybe a few hours before bored...and thats like 5% of the game. They meander a lot, no innovation, worthless gimicks, get more open world but more restricted, less interesting in design as they copy each others homework, hire hack writers that copy marvel slop, simplify mechanics, complicate pricings, implement too much in tiny ways (crafting to name one), and are just too fucking huge to download and update constantly. I dont like wokeshit but games are bad because they are made by huge teams that still end up loading off the work to 3rd world countries wirh cliff notes.
