The difference between then and now is that apparently nowadays they're not even including the nipples for an uncensored version if there's not going to be a physical media release.

I mean that is pretty dumb. Physical media keeps anime alive. And the uncensored versions always helped guaranteed sales. People can disagree on morality if they wish, it's true. I imagine though a lot of it is cost cutting. Why make two versions when you're Netflix and everyone uses you anyway? You're already rich. It's unfortunate but I think the decision was made in a board room with suits.

Why did the magazine readers start favoring drawn variants before the laws banning child pornography was established? The part between the quote from the real-life child pornography and the quote starting with

doesn't explain well why lolicon material became more popular over actual pictures of girls. Some explanation could be found in the depression and Hikikomori culture in the 1990s. However the quote above is in 1983. Of course explaining why is difficult, but I think it merits some discussion (there are some attempts in the article the above quote is from, emphasizing its fiction-like qualities in "cuteness"), so that the real-life child pornography part can be connected to the lolicon part.

It may be that OP's discussion of real-life child pornography in Japan is surprisingly less relevant than it seems. Child pornography was popular around the world in the 1970s. For example, although the OP is correct in that Japan made its child pornography laws in 1999, the US made its child pornography laws federally only in 1978, and only two states had laws against it before that (trusting Wikipedia). Denmark and the Netherlands in the 1970s seem to have been large sources of child pornography (as mentioned in your sources, "most of which were from Denmark and the Netherlands") :

But the prevalence of lolicon-type media nowadays (and likely for the entire stretch of the 1970s until now) seems to be much smaller outside Japan and more generally East Asia. So I don't think it's that Japan having a greater share of pedophiles that resulted in lolicon.

Small update: Sorry that this thread hasn’t gotten out of PG yet. My desktop computer went on the frizz and had to goto the repair shop. (WINDOWS 11 SUCKS.) Plus work is taking up my time.

I really wanna finish the criminal section. It’s gonna take me a bit because I’ve gotta translate pages and make sure articles are accurate.

Once I get that done, I’ll get the thread officially out of PG!

Your OP's looking really good so far. Aside from some typos like "notible" instead of "notable", the only thing I want to bring to your attention is your OP is getting quite expansive and may hit the character limit when you add your new section, which is 65000 characters. You may need to delete the WIP disclaimer you have to get your final edits through. Other than that, great work and hopefully it will be out of PG soon.

I've had encounters with him before. Its why I didn't argue with him. Its meaningless. He doubles down on the freeze peach shit and runs in circles. I was surprised he got banned since he had gotten away with it for so long.
