The only good thing that Nexus has going for it is that it's a website. A lot of mods nowadays are hosted on random Discord servers where tranny jannies decide you're not worthy to download the thing in the first place because you haven't gooned with them in VC today.

In the beginning there was Usenet. Eventually Usenet got archived and you could search history easily rather than asking the same stupid question. Then came forums. Guess what, you could find history and not ask the same stupid question. Then indexers of the web so you could find information across forums. Then Facebook which starts the trend of locking everything up and siloing everything. Then reddit, which has the silos but at least public visibility and search. Then Discord, which is even worse unsearchable and time limited and silos all the way down. So everyone has to ask the same fucking question every week.

Name a better place to get mods for Bethesda games. No, basedmods isn't an alternative. It's a place to get removed mods people cared enough to archive. You're not getting stuff people actually use on there outside of one or two mods.

Until all the alternative mod site get a host of modders you are kinda forced to use nexus and the alternative site to get a full mod list. You don't have a choice.

I'm forced to use nexus to get the essential mods to run the mods from based mods. But even based mods doesn't host the mods made for emulated games like switch/wiiU titles, you just have to hunt the Internet for those if you want to replace Links horse in botw with Thomas the tank engine. https://gamebanana.com/mods/168100

Its an imperfect solution until more people move off the nexus plantation

Think IRC, but shittier, centralized, policed, spied and monitored upon. And because both millennials and zoomers alike are technologically illiterate it was adopted en-masse as a means of using voicechat for online pc games. This is one thing I don't see assholes be repentant on whenever those awful "pc master race vs consoles lal" threads pop up; the massive spread of discord.

I will stop using Nexus once the alternatives have a website that is easy to use. BasedMods' interface is ugly and not user-friendly.

Discord is basically Skype for gamers. Became popular around the time Skype was going to complete shit.

You would think the most important facts would be repeated ad nauseam in threads like this here or on /v/ or on twitter. But this seems more and more of a norm these days as every passing day people outsource the thinking to others at an accelerated pace.

That's why they are rushing a port for a single player console exclusive game to regain some momentum they lost with this dogshit since their next 10 years desperately depends on Marvel goyslop. Again according to leaks and writers' twitter Wolverine game is going to be even worse and as capeshit enthusiast since 90' I hope they don't even hit Concord, Dustborn or Unknown 9 numbers so this leftist retardation's lifespan can shrink a little bit more.
