For anyone hoping a 2024 heartbound finish: either yesterday or the day before, someone asked about it on his stream and his tone immediately changed. It went from upbeat to sombre. Not sure why, but it was weird and very noticable. The tl; dr is that he doesn't know when he'll finish it and he says he's never been good at writing stories and is still working on it etc etc. Quite a different tune he was singing since he likes to brag about he writes stories like drinking water since he likes to be the DM in DnD yadda yadda... I think at one point he also said he never set deadline for it anyway but didn't actually finish his sentence, probably realizing that he did and changed to another talking point.

I apologize for not having this clipped but I've never been a clipper and I usually never consciously decide to watch his streams anyway (was just cycling thru things to put on the background to do something else)

I think I found it here. Didn't clip it myself (if anyone would like to along with archiving it, please go for it), but in his discord he has a channel called #answered-tts where any questions with that text to speech voice that comes up on stream is posted in there with a twitch timestamp and everything thanks to a bot. Makes searching for things he might have talked about very easy.

I want to give him a little credit, as he does show that he has a map laid out for himself. But Jesus Christ in over a year he has made almost no progress on the "programming" on Chapter 3 of his game. This past year Mr. Maldy has completed what he estimates as 50% of the room Picnic and 70% of The Clash since September 2023! And he completely removed a room originally titled "Lost"! (2 min 12 seconds)

In a video called "September Update" which was published on October 21st, 2023, Thor said he and his team are planning to release Animus (Chapter 3 of Heartbound) on Dec 24th, 2023.

I counted 55 rooms total in chapter 3, now 13 months have gone by and he has only worked on 2 rooms, which are still incomplete. Of course in the video he copes about this and mentions when he edits something in one room he says he goes all the way back to the beginning of the chapter and reworks early rooms for no discernable reason. I have no words, I can only repeat what is obvious to everyone. This game will never be finished

Why would someone who is self admittedly 'Not a great writer' make a game the hinges entirely on the writing and storytelling? I mean I know the answer is hubris, but at some point I would just assume he'd use all this money he's grifting to just hire a fucking writer to get the game out to save is reputation before it all comes crashing down on him.

Its also funny he talks about it like he's writing a Novel, reminds me a lot of the defense George R.R. Martin fans run about the story just being 'so complex and intricate' that it excuses such an unreasonable time taken on the task at hand.

One question is all it took to break his confident super hacker persona.

Blizzard unironically lost nothing of value when he left .
