I get where you are coming from here but there are two important caveats to remember: 1. His "work" is his streaming because he does not have a "real" job. 2. He is drinking and doing drugs at work because his work is the streams he is doing the stuff on. For a stay-at-home parent / a work from home adult, I'm gonna hit everybody with reality: There IS NO AFTER HOURS. Parenting is a 24/7 job and if you work from home like Nick does, you are always at work. That's just how it is. If you own a business, you don't really have off-hours, no matter how much people pretend to or say you need "boundaries" it just doesn't work out that way. Consider the fact that Nick somehow failed at the easiest job ever: Logging in on time to a stream where people give you money for nothing. The only excuse he had ever was that for a while, I am willing to bet people thought he had a law office and worked doing "law" during the day before he fired up the streams. That facade was the first to fall, followed by "Christian", followed by "family man", followed by "acceptable human".
I will play devil's advocate and say that providing reasonably informed law commentary and content would have required a decent level of effort that would be a significant workload when added to parental duties. Nick's failing is multi-layered.
First, he was lazy in his personal life and its organisation. He did not have a good balance setup between himself, his wife, and other potential caretakers for his children. Nick was consistently late, overpromised, and refused to improve technical, work flow, and scheduling flaws with his show for YEARS before people began to dislike him. It was seen as endearing and somewhat whimsical by his fans, but it was a sign that he was really half-arsing it the whole way. Nick rejected good advice and offers of assistance (often free), and still managed to fail successfully for years.
Second, he lacked the credentials and business acumen to expand his show topics and format sustainably. Nick got started in the niche area of talking about the law of bizarre lawsuits and explaining legal jargon while being passable as a humourist and entertainer. His commentary came from a basic understanding of law, but he never invested any time in expanding his own legal knowledge or investing in a system/people to import more legal expertise to the show. He often bemoaned the fact that there were few 'interesting' or 'fun' lawsuits to cover, but he waited like a baby bird with mouth open for topics to fall into his lap. He also was averse to hiring other lawyers to speak more competently on areas of the law he did not know, and instead opted for luck-of-the-draw appearances on his show that were 'paid in exposure'. He did not even want to hire a business manager or consultant to help with any of this. Nick never took the show seriously as a business proposition.
Lastly, Nick was a liar and con man. The image he projected, and the values he espoused were untrue to his core beliefs. This perpetuated a rot that started at the core of his show and afflicted it since the start. The Christian 'trad father' image who can also say 'fuck' now and again appealed to people with a moral compassion, but were put off by the harsh moralism and judgement they had seen in most 'trad conservatives'. But Nick was never any of these things, and as he felt the strain, he tried to leverage his audience's trust to legitimise the degeneracy that was bound within his soul. This clashed spectacularly with the basic moral values of the audience he had cultivated.
I forget, are you the Nick paypig who's marriage's deterioration was hastened by Nick's degenerate "advice" or a different paypig? You all run together in my head now. Except Still-Life, that guy's a special kind of lunatic.
@Himedall All-seeing Waifu please refresh the thread's memory. Which retard was Art?
The (former) husband of EgalitarianBtch (of fat, blonde, and shite-stained arse lewd pictures). They both supported Nick's assertion that prudish behaviour ruined marriages, and kinky sex was essential to a long, healthy relationship. Art posted many leads of his then-wife for the rest to ogle and occasionally captured a bit of his large-frame, hirisute figure at the edge of these images. When not engaged as a proponent of degeneracy, he argued with Cynthia and threatened violence and doxxing upon those who disagreed with him. He acted like a tough.
The only other notable thing he has done was a gay op cooked between him, (former) wife, and Nick to 'leak' on a LOCALS stream that she had invited Nick to go to a drag show, but that they were supposed to keep it a secret from Art. This was a plan to discredit the 'kiwifags', however, at this point, Nick's reputation was shite, so it was believable. When Nick tried to pull the 'gotcha', the thread just shrugged and agreed that Nick had played the joke on himself by 'only pretending to be retarded'.
