If Nick's parents have offered her a decent settlement to get a divorce she wouldn't have to lift a finger, and rich people avoid protracted family court battles by upfront settlements all the time.

Kayla's omnibussin' hearing is on Monday. It's possible her lawyer convinced her to take a more sensible approach to her charges and plea, which pissed off Nick (and probably April assuming that's actually her xeeting).

My guess at this point would be that she's going to take the plea and a divorce is in the works. Nick and April are both being open about their relationship now and April is throwing shade at Kayla and also saying the polycule is no more.

If Kayla's been offered an acceptable exit plan (and I've always believed that in the event of a divorce Nick's parents would offer her a settlement she couldn't refuse), she'd be a fool not to take it because even if April vanished tomorrow there will be more slam pieces.
