How much of that spike in traffic is from the recent hack, it was big enough to make rounds with major Youtubers. I'd like to see FA's site traffic over a year, traffic dropping off after the interest waned would be normal.

This doesn't have much to do with anything right now, but I came across it by accident on FA and found it kind of funny anyway.


Whenever FA has a new site-wide announcement, it makes a visible banner appear at the top of every page and stays there until you manually dismiss it via that little icon on the right. However, since Dragoneer died, FA has had a second giant persistent banner on every page shilling the GoFundMe. Unlike other news notifications, you can't dismiss it.

I got annoyed with this, so I fired up ublock origin's element picker to forcibly remove the banner, only to discover something sort of funny:

However, the GoFundMe shilling comes up as "do_not_adblock2", meaning it's not even a news announcement, they're bypassing their own announcement system in order to force this on every page of the site and trying to make sure adblockers don't accidentally hide it. As a reminder, this banner ad has been forced on every site user for over three months as of this writing.


If any furries lurking on this thread are still using this site for some reason, that's how you hide it once and for all.

A lot of people who were crying the hardest and lashing out at anyone even slightly critical towards Dragoneer and Furaffinity were people who Dragoneer did a solid for whether that be allowing them to post porn and take commissions while underage like S0lardog/Thunper or protecting artists he liked from harassment who were mostly paedos or zoophiles.
