If I saw it sooner, I'd archived the shit out of it.
What did he say? Did he tell you to be fucking normal and brush your teeth like everyone else instead of using tap water like mouth wash?
I've seen this posted at least 3 times in this thread in the past 72 hours.
lurk m00r!
Lol, furries will still pay it anyway. Anything to get their hands on wearable cumrags.
They'll literally pay extra for no other reason than because it's made by someone popular.

They would rather continue buying textiles from China, rather than buying locally. Woah.

On a side note, I wonder what ecological impact fursuits have had on the environment with plastic fur shedding everywhere.

More long winded than a leftie meme.
So, it's basically just furries overreacting about something?
Furries getting told LGBT people and other minorities are gonna get oppressed, then refusing to do any further research and just believing what people tell them on twitter because "orange man bad". It's some giant doomer echo chamber.
Since furries claim to care about the environment so much, perhaps they'll agree to cease the production of fursuits and plushies?
Keep your paws off the plushies!

For all their talk about "trans rights are human rights" they sure have no issue with buying products from a country that literally treats some groups as second-class.

As @Temmie mentioned, they don't do their research, nor that they care to. It's always about what they want or whatever helps them get off. Most furries are massive self-obsessed narcissists anyway.

Keep your paws off the plushies!
JUST SAYIN'!

While I agree they don't care, the idea that they're ignorant about it does not comport to reality. It really is just the "fuck you, got mine" mentality of The Eternal Boomer.

why the fuck is there a mod for animal crossing to make villagers fully nude with detailed genitals but not an animal crossing mod to make them wear a pair of goddamn pants
Shit. You weren't kidding.
Best I remember back in the day was lewd patterns of characters for beds (essentially dakis) and walls (lewd art or "stuck in hole")

Just sit back and watch the fireworks. You'd think calling someone a pig in the fandom would be a compliment, but I suppose that's what skunks are for.

...is it weird that this actually makes me wonder if there's a "designated animal" for Trump supporters and leftists in the fandom? Like, all right-wingers are pigs, or elephants, or rhinos, or something. I think I saw one chick call Trump/right-wingers elephants...

I mean, they seem to liken Harris as a hyena, for instance.

She's only a hyena because, funny enough, of the very thing Republicans use against her (because yeah, she tends to end a lot of things with cackling). So in an unsurprising use of irony, they're actually endorsing the things Republicans (and even some Democrats) complained about and proving to them that she is nothing but a cackling machine.

Not exactly some big gotcha but I thought it was something to bring up. Knowing a good chunk of her supporters, they probably thought it was their own gotcha or something.

Not particularly. Anti-Trump content usually uses his likeness directly, and a few as various rodents. Though there's always the Lion angle, which kind of started with an custom Continental Army flag from 2016 by VDare [A]

For the "pigs/elephants/rhinos", it's pretty easy to explain. Pigs are... well... pigs. When you call someone a pig, it's to say they're fat, ugly, and rude. Likewise, it can also be seen as a metaphor for people who work more "blue-collar" jobs. For the elephant, that's largely the result of the elephant being a symbol of the GOP which goes all the way back to the mid-1800's where cartoonist Thomas Nast would depict the Democratic Party as a donkey and the Republicans as an elephant. The reasoning goes well beyond the scope of this comment, but I'm sure you can find more info if you so choose. As for rhinos, this largely comes from the acronym RINO which stands for Republican In Name Only and is used as a pejorative towards those seen as disloyal to the party. Honestly, the idea of depicting people as animals goes back as far as WWI with the "Destroy This Mad Brute" poster and even further with just fucking bizarre shit like this....

History is fucking weird. But as you can see, the idea of using animals to refer to people in the realm of politics is nothing new... or... sane. Of course, this isn't limited to sticking a politicals head onto an animal.

Aside from that, people have also used animals as a shorthand to describe people. Wise like an owl, cunning like a fox, or swift like an eagle. When it comes to Trump, specifically, one can draw parallels to the image of the prideful lion in the way they often appear as well as their often stern, grumpy look. There's also the whole "king of the jungle" aspect that lions have. but this is already getting a bit long winded.

Honestly, this whole thing is just fascinating to me and everything I said is just a long-winded way to say: Symbolism.

From what I've seen (which is very little, admittedly), there isn't one. I was surprised to see Harris depicted as a hyena, given how hyenas are scavengers and usually aren't seen as "nice" animals. If we're talking about self-representation, it really depends. A lot of Trump supporters and neutrals seem to like wolves and lions, whilst the lefties are hard to identify - species wise. I imagine this is because a lot of them don't know how to convey species without it looking like a canine or feline, presumably because they don't know how to stylise beyond 1 or 2 animals.

Regardless, whilst I'm more familiar with British political cartoons, it's very common to depict politicians as animals, as Day of the Cope said. It was very common to depict Boris Johnson as a pig, for reasons I won't go into. When they don't compare politicians to animals, it's usually to actually focus on their policies.
