Now this is the ultimate punishment in Hell. Being turned into a marketable plushie.
“V-Vivzie…d-don’t turn me into marketable plushies…”

VIVZIE-

I could write a preamble for a Playbill of my own and have it say "The animation world is severely lacking in straight white male's voices" and it would somehow hold more weight than anything Viv's said here.

That aside, I can at least understand where Viv is coming from when it comes to making something authentically "her." It's just that when the Hazbin pilot came out 5 years ago, I thought to myself, "Viv, I know you want to make something unapologetically 'you', but if this is what's going to define the next decade of animation, I dunno if 'you' are what the zeitgeist truly needs right now. If your show is a success, everyone's gonna innevitably want to imitate 'you', and eventually I'm gonna see 'you' everywhere. In comment sections, on social media, in nearly every major animated show, in profile pictures, video essays, memes, crossover fanart, possibly even in real life. People are gonna love and respect 'you' and what you made, but at the same time...

I shutter at the mere thought of 'you' taking over the world."
I'm late here, but wtf does she mean by "reclaim hell?" For queer people? Weird hill to die on but okay. Doesn't that just say Christians are right about gays and the woke crowd going to hell?

I despise her vision of hell. It isn't hell. It's 'vivziepop's painfully incoherent universe' that can't decide what it wants to be.

Didn't they already make plushies?
They did, but of a different design - these ones are a collaboration with YouTooz, which also have their own store where they sell toys that they design. From what I’ve heard, their delivery is also cheaper than of Shark Robot, where Vivziepop sells her merch, even though all of the YouTooz’s HH and HB items are sold at her shop as well.

Also, kinda hypocritical when you have St.Peters twinky ass in Heaven.

As my friend said "Vivs Hell is just Chicago if rampee up to 11", which is kinda funny since in Pilot it gave a better sense of anarchy in hell when you just had random fights started for controls like it went with Cherri and Pentious

Does anyone else think Angel Stella from the leaked episode is just a ripoff of Alan Rickman's character from  Dogma?

Not really? I mean, given how she's not being played off for comedy, moreover from the court scene with Serpentious and her duet with Sera, she comes across as someone who's very warm and motherly, and who's there to provide spiritual consolation and guidance to those who need it.

Though of course, they had her more or less ignoring that one character in the room who was very obviously and desperately in need of some spiritual consolation and guidance.

Also, looking at the leaks and this really is now fucking with me, why does Lute have a Full Metal Alchemist arm now? She didnt lose it from a holy weapon as I recall, she just tore it off. Sooo...what Angels/Exterminatord cannot regen lost limbs? That seems like a big flaw.
Probably a case of Vivzie ignoring whatever rules and lore she may or may not have written in favor of whatever looks cool.

the part that interests me is how hell became what it is. a bustling lawless metropolis
but vivzie is too bothered with fuck all to even explain how we got here. did everyone band together to make a giant city or something? or was it already there when they got there? did they just drop luci in a pre-made city? what about the eras, was it always like this? does it change depending on the era? why the HELL does hell even follow modern standards, wouldn’t it create its own standards, at the very least in the hellborn? a new culture other than “blehhh cannibal town”? hell doesn’t have a government, do the overlords just tell people to make buildings or do they just vision them up with powers?

for someone so obsessed with almost unnecessary world-building, i’d imagined she’d established that all by now

reclaim hell because everyone there is actually good!!!!!
late and already said probably, but viv is so scared of making her characters bad. this was already prevalent in the pent leaks. what the fuck did angel dust even do? was he like, a drug addict or something?
speaking of queers, i feel like there could be a genuinely interesting plotline about how homosexuality affects getting into hell. but apparently everyone’s gay, and everyone’s fine with that? sure, make someone else throw a rock at a bird or something. i’ll be fantasising about the notion that genuinely bad people can become good ones

He was involved with organized crime, was a drug addict, and from how good he is with guns, probably killed some people too.

You'd think a show who's premise is trying to redeem people in hell would want to tackle the issue of how they wound up in hell head on, it'd make for compelling storytelling.

I'd mentioned the series before, but Black Lagoon made no illusions about how basically all the main characters were horrible people who did horrible things and didn't try to sugarcoat it. But it did show their pasts and their perspectives, so you understood where they were coming from, and so naturally you wound up having empathy and sympathy for them, and on a level wanted to root for them and see them become better people than they were.

It's a difficult needle to thread, but one you need to try to if you're writing a story about redemption. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Viv has the maturity or skill to do that.
